We're (very understandably) bookies early favourites for the drop. Probably still will be favourites even after we've made all our signings. While we need that amount expect the January signings to take up a number of places, they were additions. Going by your list I wouldn't expect more than 7 incoming including a 3rd keeper. With the scrimping on pre season friendlies it's obvious staying up isn't that important. High hopes but low expectations. |

Won't be good enough for the Championship in 12 months time (Might not be good enough now?) Keys and Collins at Exeter City looking for deals. |

well he can reject it and move on if he wants he would be no loss to our squad unlike with Ennis. He would be destroyed by the fast pace attacks in the championship like he was in league one we need to have as strong a defence as poss next season and i dont see Wilson being more than a backup if anything. Give him a set deadline yto sign or reject i say hes not good enough to drag this out like Carey did. |

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Certainly played his part in the successes of the last couple of seasons but by the same token definitely not irreplaceable. Good luck to him and hope he finds a decent club, will do a job for somebody. Yet another gap for Schuey to fill by the start of the season though. |

| no loss at all. thankyou for your contributions but in truth george michael felt andrew ridgleys departure from wham more than we will his from our team. Too slow caught out by pace many times and blamed others for it would have been a squad player at best here in the championship as he would have been a weak link in a defence that needs to be strong as possible. Again thankyou to him but not fussed at all hes gone. |

| Bristol Rovers are set to sign former Plymouth Argyle defender James Wilson, according to journalist Alan Nixon.
Wilson played a crucial role in the Pilgrims' promotion to the Championship this season, scoring one goal and providing three assists in 46 appearances in all competitions to help Steven Schumacher's side to the League One title and an incredible total of 101 points.
Would James Wilson be a good signing for Bristol Rovers? Wilson would be an outstanding signing for the Gas.
He played an integral part in Argyle's promotion this season and Schumacher was clearly keen to keep him at Home Park, so it is a significant coup from Rovers to convince him to drop down to League One.
Wilson has excellent third tier experience and after winning the title with the Pilgrims, he will help to instill a winning mentality at the Memorial Stadium.
With Gibson's return looking uncertain, it was essential Barton added depth at centre-back and recruiting Wilson is the perfect start to the summer for the Pirates. |

| So with Wilson gone that's 9 first team players Schuey now needs to replace with the smallest budget in the division. With only about 4 weeks before the players (what players?) return to training and 8 weeks to go until the start of the season it's really beginning to feel like we are right up shit creek. |

oh ys i forgot in your mind every signing has to be done and dusted the day after the season ends despite NO ONE is making waves as much as players are on holiday still |

| I’ll email Schumacher later and tell him not to bother, Freathy’s got us relegated already. Think he forecasted relegation at the start of last season! |

Think he forecasted relegation at the start of last season! I don't think Schuey needs to be told we'll be in a relegation scrap. He knows. Keeping Argo up in spite of our small budget and having to completely rebuild a team in a matter of weeks will be a far bigger achievement for Schuey than winning L1. |

As the fact is lost on you players and agents are still on holiday and they wont be returning till nearer the start dates for clubs for pre season. Im postitive we have spoken to some players already and have our targets in mind but it is rare to see incomings from all clubs bar a few exceptions till nearer the end of the month and the whole of july. The transfer window only just opened too and closes end of august beginning of september. we will be ok for who we bring in providing you stop comparing the elite in this league to us cause we arent competing for their spots at the top of the table yet only staying up. |

| People talking about "first teamers" but was any player a guaranteed starter for every game? Cooper yes, but I think even Edwards was benched for a few games.
Schoe-e is able to utilize the full squad, not just 12-14 "first teamers" |

| I gave up ‘debating’ with Freathy years ago. I’d recommend it. It’s a pointless exercise.
If he trolled with humour it’d be a different story. But he don’t, do ‘eee.
As far as next season goes, everybody accepts it’ll be a good one if we stay up. Low expectations are almost always a good thing in that respect. |

| Argyle might well get 5 or 6 loanees in for the season, so I suspect this needs to be sorted out before the Club firm up who they want to sign on permanent deals. No point in splashing out on say a new CB if we get to sign a top quality one on loan from a Premiership side. |

In our position, it probably makes sense to try and replicate what we’ve just done successfully, utilising the loan market. Like u say though, this time round we’d be looking to get players from Prem clubs. We should be in a good position to attract young talent, given how we play and the way our loan players worked out last season. |

Anyone heard if Argyle are playing a Bounce game against Heart of Midlothian in Marbella? |
