Mmm I wonder who cost who what.

PANDA explained this when I talked to them a while ago, reason was down to the haircut that they took with the reduced payment they took from James Brent.

PANDA got paid less so they paid out less meaning a great deal of local companies got paid less. Does not make much difference as those who were owed say £10k lost approx £50 so good old admin process sticking it again to the little man.

Allegedly one of their number has been banging on about how Webb and Newell cost them £200k in the final week through the illustrious pair's co-ordinated actions in the final days.

Pasoti ran a fund for several days, raising in excess of £1,000 for St John's Ambulance.. Meaning they have received considerably more than others.

Having said that, they have still lost out and it's wrong. Now we are saved, I feel now is the time to find these ex directors and ask some questions.

One of the duties of an Administrator is to advise the DTI as to whether they consider that the company's troubles came about because of any wrong-doing on the part of the Directors. That part of the Adminstrators report would be confidential, but it will be interesting to see what develops in the near future. certainly there was a strong body of opinion that the club had been trading while insolvent, and of course the deal to install the new pitch appears to have been done at a time when any competent Director (or Company Secretary Rolling Eyes ) would have known that club was unable to meet its obligations.

The Directors may yet have some explaining to do.

Or our super rich benevolent owner could sit down with the people who are jubilant that they cost P and A £200k, which obviously they didn't, as they just cut the amount the creditors received, and see if they could increase the shirt auctions, bucket collections etc. to include the screwed over local businesses and charities. Or save himself a further lump of cash by getting fans to clean up around Home Park, instead of employing someone to do it, oh hang on.....

Or we could just wait until James Brent is as good as his word and takes part in a Q and A session on ATD and ask him how much he has paid out for the club, in light of the fact that he also received the season ticket money, and see if the total he has actually paid out isn't as much as he thought. Maybe JB was also caught up in the vast sums of money that were being bandied around last year, and when he sees in black and white how little it has actually cost him for a niece piece of real estate in the middle of Plymouth, he might realise that doing something for the people who lost out big-time while he nabbed a bargain, would increse his stature as the person who is "saving" Argyle because he loves the club.

Or, somebody could reveal how much the vulture that is Peter Ridsdale received for his magnificent effort in ensuring the smooth sale of Argyle. The same Peter Ridsdale who was being courted and praised by all and sundry last year, trotted out in pubs to adoring fans, whilst staff went without money or were losing their jobs, and businesses and charities were being shafted. This might change people views of Ridsdale and the relationship certain people connected with Argyle had with him last year, and might prompt a few people to enquire politely to Mr Ridsdale why he saw fit to accumulate this pile of cash whilst others went without and suffered.

Or we could all just go along to a fanfest, piss ourselves laughing at Rick O'Shay, pat each other on the back, and revel in the fact that we are not in the relegation places in League 2 so everythings fine, and shrug our shoulders and say we're best shot of the land anyway, who wants the burden of having to clean up a big plot of land, and we've received a bucketload of cash for it, that has been used to secure the services of injured 39 year old Steve Fletcher for the rest of the season cheers cheers cheers

This is the trouble with Brent buying the club for FA, it means there is FA to pay the creditors, then we the fans pay off the remainder to the staff, but never mind eh, at least we can trust him.

Did Brent ever say he was going to bankroll the club into the Championship? He admitted he was a 'reluctant buyer' and would only buy the club if nobody else came forward. Is that report suggesting that he was 'engineered' into the position of buying the club by Chris Webb and Ian Newell?

Brent has always said he doesn't 'get' football. Why was he at Tiverton Town last night watching our youth team take on Tiverton Town in the Devon Bowl. the total gate was 205?

If he doesn't 'get' football, would he have bothered?

He also hinted that PAFC had to be effectively self financing, remember we still have some hefty wages for useless staff - Walton, C. Fletcher between them costing allegedly £8000 a week. Or translated another way 7.4% of our gate money each week for just those two.

I predict a major clear out of dead wood at the end of this season, survival or not. Next season is not going to start any better than this one did. You read it here first!

Well, that much has been clear since the dynamic duo announced that there would be no money in the boardroom and that the supporters had the opportunity to build the club.

That's fine, as long as the fans own the club and are not being led by people of limited intelligence, who must be obeyed.

Exactly.

It is fast becoming clear that when Brent said he didn't 'get' football, he meant it. It is further becoming clear that PAFC is nothing more than an inconsequential sideline for his business interest.

Pity, because he is fast alienating a lot of supporters.

You two posts above seem to contradict each other. Either that or I'm suffering a post hoummous based lunch dippy spell.

Your post before last seemed to say that James Brent was beginning at the very least to "do football" as why else would he watch the youth team at Tiverton. Then above you say he clearly doesn't get it and its nothing more than a sideline. They don't seem to match.

As for next season being exactly the same as this with regards to investment then I would expect nothing less. If the aim is to live within our means then we should benefit from a few high earners leaving but we will still be saddled with ongoing debts that need to be serviced. I don't want to have to go through the past couple of seasons again and that means being conservative with expenditure.

Now if we were to somehow double our gates through a promotion push or progress in one of the cups and "do an Exeter" and draw Man Utd then I would expect there to be some additional investment over and above the extra payments to creditors that are made for unbudgeted income.

If we can avoid relegation this season and comfortably avoid it next then I shall see that as progress.

It's not going to get Tring out of the Med or Freathy believing his glass is half full but truly I don't know what would...
