Beginning to think we're going to struggle big time this season. Players nowhere near good enough.

Need to speed this up instead of letting them regroup.
We don't look like we want this.
Little or no desire

what does it say about the attitudes of football league clubs when they are treating the league cup like premiership clubs do by fielding weaker sides. May aswell dub it another football league trophy or whatever its called now,

Pretty average performance. First half had the air of a pre season friendly, the pace was slow, we had little creativity and no threat up front. Posh were no better, they caused no problems until Ennis lost control of the ball in his own half and we were left with a 3 on 2.
Better second half, Azaz made a big difference, he seems to be able to find space, although his finishing was poor. Their keeper made a worldie save from Ennis, and Randell got things moving in the middle.
Jephcott looked lost, Ennis was ok, but his first touch let him down, Houghton needed far too much time on the ball, then gave it away far too often. Not sure yet about Whittaker, obviously has talent and a very good left foot, but for a big bloke gets knocked off the ball too easily.
Lonwijk looked a class act at the back. won virtually every header and tackle, comfortable on the ball as well. He's an aggressive defender, unlike Wilson, who again let players run at him and got caught out.
A word also for Endacott making his debut on the left, he got in several good crosses in the second half and didn't look out of place.
If tonight was about players staking a claim for a first team place, they missed their chance, with the exception of Lonwijk. I'd play him Saturday in place of Wilson. For Jephcott, Ennis, Houghton and Whittaker, it's back to the bench.

Thinking about it.
Lonwijk and Ennacott played well. Agree jephcott looks lost no idea where he's mean to be he playing CAM or a winger.
Pace was slow.
Whitticker I'm not sure about he seems a square peg in a round hole is he a winger or a striker.
Same issue as we have with Jephcott. But fair play to him he was giving it a go.
Would give the performance a 4 But stand outs where the debutants.
On to Saturday better result I hope

Ah ha the classic goalie is at the wrong end of the pitch goal! Would have thought Callum Burton would have played last night?
