OUT! its shit song written by a shit singer who did more to piggyback on the brent era than nool and the gang and still is with that shit play of his and more so its very very village and did i mention its shit?
blocks 3-4 and 17 only know a few songs so this maybe a stretch too far to get them to change their tune to sing something else.

If it was something recorded back in the 60s or beyond I'd probably be more inclined but it's all a bit twee and anaemic for me.
To be fair, all traditions have to begin somewhere but it they want this to take off it needs to be way more rousing.

I don't see it doing that as again its another forced attempt from the club to create a club anthem and atmosphere rather than something fans adopted themselves and the club adapt it from that like all football club anthems do. They tried it a few times always failed no matter how many times they play the song at matchdays.

Oh, you're totally correct there. Mainly because, as you also said upthread, it's shite.

I was only able to listen to about 20 seconds before turning it off. A load of shit! An embarrassment.

What was alarming was the number of yokel straw-chewers joining in the ‘chorus’.
Embarrassing.

i strongly disagree, the atmosphere was already pumped and the away fans contributed to that also.

Blocks 14-17 wouldn't have heard it so they wouldn't have sung it. you can barely make out what the pa guy is saying let alone lyrics to songs. its that awful down that end of the ground

Agreed, didn't need ramping up for previous Pompey matches at HP and didn't need it on Tuesday either. That dope arsed light show is a complete flop as well, all that's needed is a bit of Sister Sledge or Chic to complete the 1970's primeval techno zeitgeist. And as for that fecking flag....
Apart from that the build up was very enjoyable though.

IT HERE TO STAY
Steven Schumacher hopes Plymouth Argyle fans adopt The Janner Song as club anthem
Plymouth Argyle have introduced a light show before their evening games at Home Park this season in a bid to boost the pre-match anticipation and excitement.
Now, Pilgrims' boss Steven Schumacher has been the driving force behind another change to get the Green Army in good voice before kick-off.
He hopes that playing The Janner Song, made famous by Rick O'Shay and Dave Banana (aka the Sensational Barnet Brothers) at Green Taverners' Fan Fests, over the PA system will add to the atmosphere.
Schumacher came up with the idea after attending the well-received Field of Greens play which was staged in the Green Taverners Suite over four nights last week with coach Kevin Nancekivell.
Field of Greens was a comedy drama based around the events of Argyle's time in administration in 2011.
As a result, The Janner Song was played over the PA at Home Park in the final few seconds before kick-off when Argyle played Portsmouth at Home Park on Tuesday, and went on to win 1-0.
