It wasn't that hard tbf. I was fitter back then, mind. Of course it isn't.... that was part of my point. It's just modern gap year stuff for the Western working and middle classes. Maccu pichu, the Amazon, it's all been done with a can of fosters only a porter/local college graduate away, who can earn more seeing to every need of the tourist than giving REAL wealth to their community in the field of their choice. I felt very sad when I saw the ludicrous sight of the huffing and puffing Brian Blessed doing the Everst thing. I liked the guy, liked his acting. But had to be honest with myself ... how self indulgent. I hate to think how the history books will record this sort of thing. it's more dangerous and difficult going to your local Aldi these days, if my experience this morning was anything to go by. Another story but involved a Dickensian money lending stand off. As they say, it all kicked off.

| I guess even in the Iberian peninsula it does that when the sun sets. I'm sure it will be scorchio tomorrow. |

| No chance of scorchio tomorrow, maybe the sun will come out, then it'll probably go dark again. |

Watched the Jason Statham film (Transporter 2, as if the actual title makes any difference to the story), but I have to confess I didn't last the distance on the Colin Farrell, even though it also had the very excellent Edward Norton in it. Innit. I've also been watching the Faster, Higher, Stronger stuff on BBC2, which is very good. Seeing Olga Korbut on last night's espisode reminded me of primary school. Jeremy Gill (I think that was his name) wandered into the classroom with his hair in two stubby little bunches. The teacher asked him what it was all about. "I want to look like Olga Korbut, miss." |

| Just visiting West Cornwall for 3 days to see if the rain the is different from the rain in North Cornwall. First update is that in the West the rain is a bit warmer, it's more likely to fall sideways and the mist is a tad softer although still grey. Not sure if this is mundane or not but it's riveting stuff after weeks of not being able to watch cricket ! Have you noticed that Sundays are always the best day of the week lately, why is that? Is it simply that after 6 days of rain it takes a rest on the Sabbath? |

Please forgive me. |

| Buy "Cornish Orchards". I don't drink cider (I've tried but for every one I think is passable there is a load that just makes me think "Why bother?") but it's apparently good and it's local. At the bar I help run we sell lots - especially the sparkling. Andy Symons deals in it I believe and I think he's said that he will do a huge reduction for ATD members if they order a box. I'm sure he will correct me if I'm wrong. |

| Cornish Orchards is fine cider, but my homebrewed cider is allegedly between 15-22% proof, I had my doubts so I've ordered a hydrometer to check, but I can confirm that I am currently as pissed as Sensiblegreeny's mattress. That took a few goes to type |
