Truth is that unless Si wants to let anybody else play with his trainset then this is our level, if he said to Lowe "we have a budget of £10m on top of this seasons budget to get to the CCC" he would stay. Can't say that I blame Lowe at all.

Apparently, Schumacher is not following Lowe to PNE.

I reckon Si will give Shuey a jab at interim manager until the end of the season. I'm OK with that.

Plymouth Argyle Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Steven Schumacher as our new First-Team Manager.

Schumacher, 37, succeeds outgoing boss Ryan Lowe, who has resigned from his position with the intention of accepting a managerial role elsewhere.

Having received a request to speak with Lowe from a team in a higher division, the club was obliged to grant permission, as per the terms of his contract at Home Park.

“More than that, though, Steven fits the profile of the kind of young, forward-thinking Manager we want at Argyle, and no prospective candidate has a better understanding of the club, and squad, than him.

“Of course, we thank Ryan for his achievements as Manager, and we wish him all the best for the future.”

Plymouth Argyle Director of Football Neil Dewsnip said: “This is an exciting opportunity for Steven and the club, and one that I know both parties will embrace.

“For as long as I’ve known him, Steven’s dedication to becoming the best coach he can be has been there for all to see, and I firmly believe the time is right for him to step into management.

“He has shown great commitment to Argyle, and our footballing philosophy is one he has played a big part in shaping.”

Looks like Dewsnip staying.

Have my reservations but lets get behind Schumacher and see what happens.

Yep. Seems like an acrimonious split as far as Lowe goes. Never before have I seen a new manager announced on the baggo prior to an announcement saying the old one has left. Resignation from Lowe would point to a ‘toys out the Pram’ scenario.

That announcement, and the way it came speaks volumes. Lowe almost ignored in the statement, with virtually all the emphasis on Shuey.

It’s good that the club have acted quickly to appoint Schumacher.

It’s a bit strange that Schumi accepted the position so quickly. Did the club know that he would stay if Lowe left? Has Lowe leaving been on the cards for a while?

Would be funny but seems clear he’s been offered it as soon as they spoke, and he’s come back and resigned there and then. Hope we screw them for maximum compo. Not sure he can officially take over there until that’s all agreed.
