Has passed away according to PASOTI. He was responsible for another memorable moment in 1976 similar to the Evans goal in another thread. Southampton were cup finalists and still in with a good chance of promotion and stuffed full of big names but 0-0 with about 10 minutes to go in front of 25000 at HP. Peter got the ball on the touchline in front of the Lyndhurst about 40 yards from the byline and aimed a high cross to the far post. I was right behind the flight of the ball and thought it was an easy ball for the keeper but as it neared him unbelievably he misjudged it and let it sail over him right into the net rigging inside the post. Pandemonium again and Argyle held out for 1-0 and severely dented the Southampton promotion push, although they did win the cup. Wholehearted player who didn't play that many games but went on to play a part in local football for many years.
RIP Peter
