| There's no need to despair Tring. In that group are a whole lot of unsavoury characters that I wish didn't attend football matches. In this instance though when you are marshalled to a football ground from a football special you have no choice. Chris is not implicated by either being in the photo or singing. |

Merv Plummer Don't worry about them, Merv - the horses will have their day in The Sun soon enough! Jon |

He is in the second row and clearly feels part of the gang. It just doesn't look good imo. I'd be dropping off the back of this unsavoury mob. |

If you weren't a bunch of hoolies why were all those police there ?
Eh ? In case all the Exeter wankers started something they couldn't finish by chucking coins or maybe singing about players mothers being a whore? |

| Perhaps we should all agree that CW is the spawn of the devil, should be banned from all football matches (at least) and that he should be publicly humiliated at Home Park for his despicable act of shouting and pointing his finger. Either that or we see the OP for the troll that it clearly was. |

An over reaction mate. I doubt James Brent would have been so involved and in the second row of the Swilly massive. |

| There's all sorts of things Chris Webb can be criticised for, but football hooliganism isn't one of them. Every time a decent away following rocks up by train, the police kettle them in one place before marching them to the ground - i've been caught up in these things on a few occasions. Does that make me a hooligan/thug/TCE ?
The original post is a nonsensical piece of trolling; thankfully the majority of us have seen right through it. And my message to the OP is simple - jog on, sonny, we don't need that sort of juvenile attempt at shit-stirring here, thanks. |

If people can't see the potential for trouble written all over the faces of this mob, I truly despair. Trin, i got off the train and was shoved into this escourt and there was no trouble at all, a few mouthy people from plymouth and a few mouthy people from exeter. It's a derby, things were going to get heated, the level of hatred between the two clubs is rife. The original poster is just a troll looking for someone to react like this, If chanting makes you a hooligan then i dont know what to say. |

| I don't like how football and hatred appear to be synonymous and that it is acceptable to normal people. These same people then wonder why racist and extremist groups use football crowds as a vehicle . I didn't notice any women or children in this group and I still maintain that the 'attitude', so clearly on display, is not something I would ever want to be any part of. Probably explains why I rarely go to football these days.

I'd like to see that lot 'chanting' down the Old Kent Road .................... but that's unlikely for more than one reason I disagree Tring. When you get off any football special or are horded into an escorted march to the ground then there are all types contained. I like a sing-song as much as the rest of them and admit that when you're away from home there is that extra special buzz that you're the away team and outnumbered (although in this instance of course outnumbered wasn't an issue ). If that were me I would be joining in the songs just like Chris. I'm 41 with 2 children, a professional job and a spotless criminal record (apart from having an arkward liking for Mandy by Barry Manilow )
The OP is shit stiring and bearing in mind the dislike on here to phantom posters on PASOTI that is an unwelcome first post from a new user.
AS for the GOS photo's, as much as I appreciate them, I've never understood why people queue outside for the terraces to open and then proceed to stand looking at grass for 2 hours. That is wasting crucial drinking time. Now let's see, 8000 supporters at the game, of which just over 1000 were away supporters, no course you were'nt out numbered, or do you mean you had more thugs there than us? which then makes Tring & myself correct... The numbers are there!! No criminal record eh, you just haven't been caught speeding yet have you, 30 in a red circle means thirty miles an hour, not forty |

| Personally, didn't look too bad for me. Seen a lot worse at Old Firm games, and England Scotland games at the old Hampden Park. I am still trying to forget about the Heysel. The police are smiling and grinning in some shots and most (most) of the fans seem to be in good humour. Was there a big outbreak of trouble, or did the home fans leave early? Tring - they only shoot horses if they don't dance (I hope!!). Merv Plummer |

| I remember Argyle_Ive being arrested at a Reading away game for 'assualting a police horse' (I think a copper pushed him into the horse first). I think Thames Valley police were found to be over-zealous and made to apologise to a few argyle fans who they arrested. |

I'm well aware it is all very small time compared to many, yet it would be wise not to forget Heysel imo. The next level https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2Qe4EfFi7E&feature=related |

Heysel was terrible, took me ages to go near a crowded area. 4/5 years before I went to see another game. Worst part was we couldn't leave, even though we had ID proving we lived in Brussels and worked for NATO. Policeboys (I mean "boys") drafted in with big dogs and automatic rifles slung across their chests. Lock and load........ Still there in my head even now.

Merv Plummer Didn't realise you were actually there Merv. It must have been like a nightmare. Football just seems to accept foul, provocative chanting, the type of moron that attracts and the resultant violence, both verbal and physical. As I said before, it isn't sport. |

Playing one of my favourite teams (not) this week, Preston North End... my only flirt with football violence ever... After a match v them in the old 3rd division.. I was walking down St James Road and a PNE supporter was coming up, as we passed, he just hit me in the stomach, no provocation, nothing, thank god he didn't have a knife in his hand, at the time, as you say Tring, sport it is not!! |
