Digital and Streaming Upgrade Plans Announced

We are excited to reveal plans for the upcoming launch of a brand-new digital offering for supporters, including a modernised official club website, mobile app, and streaming service.

The Pilgrims have appointed leading digital agency Other Media to develop a cutting-edge website and Argyle app for iOS and Android users, while global streaming specialist StreamAMG has been appointed to lead on the club’s new streaming product.

The combined website, app and streaming service is scheduled to be up and running by the beginning of the 21/22 season. The new digital services will replace those currently in operation, including iFollow streaming and the EFL Digital app and website.

Work on this project has been ongoing for a number of months behind the scenes at Home Park, with reliability, ease of use, and quality of experience all driving forces behind the decision to invest in a new digital offering for the Green Army.

Jamie Yabsley, the Pilgrims’ Head of Marketing and Communications, said: “This is a really exciting development for the club.

“This project allows us to produce our own digital solution, controlled by us, designed specifically for Argyle supporters.

“Not only will these new platforms offer a better, more reliable experience for Argyle fans, but they also provide us greater opportunities to enhance and amplify the Argyle brand – in line with the club’s long-term ambition to become a sustainable Championship level club.

“To do that, we need to grow our fanbase, engaging effectively with our current supporters, as well as inspiring those who are lapsed, or not yet interested in Argyle. The club is in an exciting place - we have a strong story to tell, the right people involved, and we now have the tools to press forward.”

More information and previews of the website, app and streaming service will be revealed as the project unfolds.

The new digital services will kick-start a long-term supporter services project at the club, with plans in the works for a ‘single sign-on’ system - bringing areas like ticketing, retail, streaming and hospitality together in one easily accessible account.

George Crabb, Managing Director of Other Media, whose partner clubs include West Ham United, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Plymouth Argyle, an historic club that understands the value of putting the fan’s digital experience at the centre of the club’s development plans.

“Argyle join our growing network of clubs delivering customised digital products, powered by our Clubcast Fan Experience Platform, who are seeing the benefits of developing a strong digital strategy that places the fan experience at the heart of new engagement and commercial opportunities.

“Building stronger ties between the club and the fans is vital as we emerge from the COVID crisis and we’re looking forward to launching a range of new digital products in the next few months.”

Hugo Sharman, CEO of StreamAMG, said: “We're very happy to be working with Plymouth Argyle to power their new streaming service. We're proud to be supporting the club's ambitions and looking forward to working closely with their team."

Reading between the lines the powers that be envisage an increasing digital experience perhaps at the expense of actual bums on seats - season tickets for your sofa?

We have lived through 14months of lunacy - anything is up for grabs!

Whether its better or worse than Ifollow no one will sign up if we keep getting beaten 6 0.

Can you watch it on your tv or is it phone/tablet/laptop only?

Yeah it's fine if you use it to stream it to a TV or smart speaker.

But trying to listen to commentary only.
On your phone soon as you lock it to put it in your pocket listen with headphones in , it stops the stream.

Where as the app for ifollow and hopefully this app were ment to get doesn't do that

the app is now live...

already simple minded Janner's are moaning on twitter cause the app's called argyle and the description calls us Plymouth only...
