Naughty boys of St Blazey

An investigation is underway after a Cornish football team cancelled two festive fixtures due to "a Covid issue" just days after a team night out.

St Blazey AFC were due to face local rivals AFC St Austell on Boxing Day and then St Dennis AFC on bank holiday Monday but on Monday of this week, the South West Peninsula Football League confirmed that both games were off "due to a Covid issue with the St Blazey squad".

The cancellations have caused uproar on social media after players shared a group squad photo from a night out in Plymouth on Saturday night.

Are they thick or what, Cornwall tier 1, Plymouth tier 2 and they decide to have a piss up in plymouth!!

given the mentality of the cornish i wouldnt be shocked if they blame them for making their county tier 2 as a result.

I full expect to see the boxing hunt revisited but st blazey players instead of foxes being hunted.

A football team has announced it has asked players and managers to leave the club over their involvement in a Christmas party which allegedly breached coronavirus restrictions.

St Blazey AFC issued a short statement on its Twitter profile today (January 21), saying that joint-managers Matt Hayden and Shaun Vincent had been sacked over the incident at an Airbnb on the Barbican in Plymouth
