| Johnson caught between a rock and a hard place after his past catastrophic errors and the immense death toll on his watch. He has no choice but to be ultra careful with one foot already at the door of the Old Bailey
I agree with everything he's done today frankly |

I agree with everything he's done today frankly the deaths are nothing to do with him but everything to do with those who didnt follow the guidelines or wore a mask or washed their hands. Lockdown restrictions havent been lifted yet and already kids are out mixin with other kids playing football hanging around town. Boris isnt responsible for the, spreading the virus. |

Only the terminally dim-witted will take those death figures at face value without analysing the true numbers. Remember, "died WITH Covid", Not OF Covid. There was a FOI request a few weeks ago asking Derriford Hospital how many people had died OF Covid rather than WITH Covid. The answer was 5 of of 144 (3.5%) Multiply that up national levels & we get only 4227. Sad though it is, the vast majority of the people in headline figure were very ill & would have died anyway within a few weeks or months. Added to that 40% of new infections are now occurring within hospitals. Huge & ridiculously inaccurate numbers suit the Government's fear agenda but give plenty fuel to those eager to criticise. As I've said before why would the UK's figures be any worse than any other developed nation ? |

| Guardian - Italy 'misled WHO on pandemic readiness' weeks before Covid outbreak Preparations not reviewed since 2006 but self-reporting in February 2020 claimed they were at highest level.
However, it emerged last year that Italy had not updated its national pandemic plan since 2006, a factor that may have contributed to at least 10,000 Covid-19 deaths during the first wave and which is a key element in an investigation into alleged errors by authorities being carried out by prosecutors in Bergamo, the Lombardy province that was severely affected in the pandemic’s early stage.
Expecting Piers and Doctor Oxford to be tweeting their outrage over these lies and cold blooded murder from our European friends in the morning. Lay off the Peroni chaps. |

If the real figures are so low why would the Government need a fear agenda - unless it was to make millions for their mates for PPE supply. Try explaining your reasoning to thousands of families across the country who have lost loved ones, some young, some old, but many would be alive today if covid wasn't around. Try arguing the low numbers of cases to the front line workers in the NHS who have worked to the point of exhaustion in intensive care wards full of covid patients. You should be ashamed of yourself. Presumably you won't be getting the vaccine, as there is no need? |

| In West Devon we now have four active cases yet we are looking at months more restrictions. I want a return to tiers soon as I don't think it's a problem for us Devon and Cornwall residents travelling around our own counties for leisure purposes. Seemingly all the counting seems to be done in London and the Southeast but you can guarantee that the day we get let out it will with the multitudes of Londoners with higher rates than we have now. It's really pissing me off. |

| Another thing that pisses me off is Kranky and the Scots announcing today that they are about to release their roadmap for lockdown release. FFS! Next thing you will hear is how everybody is confused by the differences across the border, we should have a UK response and just for once all sit down like adults and agree on a sensible plan for the good of the UK and leave all the Independance issues for another day because for now like it or not they are still part of the UK. |

| Lots of silly people are booking up European holidays, forget it, it is not up to Uk,
MILLIONS of Brits may be banned from European holidays this summer - even if our Covid rates continue to go down.
The bloc's leaders will admit during a video call on Thursday that the pandemic there is too "serious" to start lifting restrictions.
EU chiefs have been alarmed by stubbornly high infections across most of the continent while their botched vaccines drive stutters.
Their efforts are being blighted by low take up of the AstraZeneca jab after French and German politicians spread misinformation about its efficacy. |

I really wish who ever is advising him would tell him to cease making guarantees like that as with this virus breaking up and mutating into different strans and the vaccine will only vaccinated against certain strans and may help aide with others untill the virus is 100% dead nothing is a guarantee. |

agreed but at the sametime they dont want to rush to unlock everything fully without restrictions without cautious approach first and it being stuck too and run the risk which will be even worse for economies. |

| UK thinktank calls for door-to-door Covid jabs to tackle vaccine disparities Exclusive: Runnymede Trust chief says uptake gap risks Covid becoming a disease of poverty.
Ministers are being urged to offer vaccines door to door in hard-to-reach, deprived and minority ethnic communities amid fears that coronavirus could become a disease of poverty.
Speaking to the Guardian, Halima Begum, the chief executive of the Runnymede Trust thinktank, said if people were not able or willing to go to GP surgeries, hospitals or vaccination centres, members of the NHS vaccine army should go to them.
Words fail me, if they wont go, the NHS is supposed to go knocking on doors wtf? |

| Oh dear.... 'British tourists could be banned from holidays on the Continent this summer as Eurocrats threaten to keep EU borders closed. The hopes of millions of Britons hang in the balance ahead of a meeting tomorrow when the EU’s leaders will push to keep lockdown restrictions in place. Boris Johnson said on Monday that May 17 is the earliest that Britons could be allowed to go on holidays abroad. But the EU’s botched vaccine rollout has left Europe languishing behind the UK and facing months before lockdowns can be lifted. Infections remain high across most of the bloc. Overall the EU has vaccinated only 6 per cent of its population, while the UK has reached one in three adults, with 18million people having received at least one dose. European leaders are meeting tomorrow for talks via videolink to discuss their ongoing response to the pandemic. And the 27 governments will say in a joint statement, seen by the Daily Mail, that the situation is still too serious to ease restrictions on travel from outside the EU. ‘The epidemiological situation remains serious, and the new variants pose additional challenges,’ the statement says. ‘We must therefore uphold tight restrictions while stepping up efforts to accelerate the provision of vaccines. For the time being, non-essential travel needs to be restricted. ‘We need to accelerate the authorisation, production and distribution of vaccines in the weeks and months to come.’ Eurocrats have agreed on a ‘safe’ list of countries from where non-essential travel to the EU is allowed. It currently includes Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, and South Korea, but not Britain. ‘The level of coronavirus incidents are still too high in Britain for it to be considered to be included on that list,’ an EU diplomat said. A French government source told the Mail that it was too early to say if British tourists would be able to travel to France this summer. But the ultimate decision on borders rest with individual countries and some have already broken ranks with the recommendation. Greece and Cyprus have struck travel corridor deals with Israel after its successful vaccination drive. And Spain’s tourism minister, Reyes Maroto, has been talking up vaccine passports to get Britons back to its beaches. Greek tourism minister Harry Theocharis urged Brussels to ‘move more quickly’ on agreeing a common vaccine passport for travellers, accusing the EU of ‘short-sightedness.’ EU leaders will express their anger at European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen and the EU executive over the handling of its jab procurement scheme. Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orban said it was a ‘bad decision’ to hand over responsibility for buying vaccines to Eurocrats. ‘We’ve sought to do something together that we could have managed more successfully on an individual basis – take a look at Britain,’ he added. German MEP Gunnar Beck said: ‘Europe will be locked down until Christmas if this farce continues.’ [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]_______________________________________ I'm one of the common people so says the wife!
