| Guardian - Britain is on a collision course with the EU over vaccine shortages after Brussels refused to accept that people in the UK have first claim on Oxford/AstraZeneca doses produced in local plants.
In a withering statement, Stella Kyriakides said the UK should not earn any advantage from signing a contract with AstraZeneca three months before the EU’s executive branch put pen to paper.
“We reject the logic of first come, first served,” the commissioner said. “That may work in a butcher’s shop but not in contracts and not in our advanced purchase agreements.”
They 'reject the logic of first come first served' they haven't even approved this vaccine in Europe yet and signed contracts 3 months after the UK. They are demanding that our manufacturing plants in Staffordshire and Oxfordshire divert vaccines to the EU.
If they were Argo fans they would have bought a season ticket 3 months into the season, 'rejected the logic of first come first served' and demanded to be in the 2,000 that were able to watch some games.
The Eu is desperate now to cover up the failings of a protectionist, snail paced block unable to react as quickly as Boris and his Spitfires, blood on their hands, incompetence, drunkenness, hangovers etc etc just what WILL Piers make of this in the morning? |

| Guardian again - While the UK has administered vaccine first doses to more than 10% of adults and plans to vaccinate the most vulnerable 15 million – including all over-70s – by mid-February, the EU has reached 2% so far. The UK’s regulator approved the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine in late December.
You can't keep the EU leaders sober for long enough to do anything.
Blood on their hands, mass unrest, drunken oafs, hungover, clowns twats blah blah blah. |

| It might be the SUN but saying everything everyone watching GMB wanted to hear -
''THE EU’s true colours are now starkly exposed to its enraged citizens and even UK fans who have supported it for so long.On vaccines, it is paying the price of its cumbersome bureaucracy and woeful incompetence. Too arrogant to admit its flaws it jealously lashes out at Britain, sickeningly threatening our jab supplies.A shameful pack of lies mysteriously leaked to the German Press then claims our Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine barely works in over-65s. Yes, the same vaccine the EU is desperate to get hold of — but still, incredibly, hasn’t approved.
It is a sorry, shambolic spectacle, one only the crazier Remain diehards would defend. Here is their great “liberal peace project” issuing menaces like gangsters. Britain was simply much faster to secure, approve and roll out the vaccines. Brexiters said we would be nimbler on our own. So it has proved. But compare too the difference in attitude: Britain (that’s “insular Little Britain”, remember) offering our world-beating genomics expertise to help the rest of the planet identify Covid variants. And Brussels . . . driven by selfish spite. |

Great post but you won’t get a response from Harve Told you he wouldn’t cos he hasn’t the intelligence/guts to participate in genuine debate, he’d rather post old news and fabrications.

| Macron good, Boris bad but wait.....
Guardian - France hit by vaccine supply problems France’s health ministry has announced supplies of the Moderna vaccine expected during February will be reduced by 25%, Reuters reports.
Elsewhere, a shortage of vaccines has forced Paris and two other regions – that together account for a third of the French population – to postpone giving out some first doses, a source familiar with the discussion and health officials said on Thursday.
The public health agency for Paris and the surrounding region, an area of 12.1 million people, told regional hospitals on a conference call on Wednesday that from 2 February, all deliveries of first doses of the Covid-19 vaccine to medical establishments would be suspended, the source said.
Could Piers not get over there and drag Macron out of the bar? blood on his hands, civil unrest, why can't the UK be like Europe, BOJO clown, hair, twat etc etc etc |

| The Guardian. 10-Jul-20. Quote " The UK’s decision not to join an EU plan to distribute a potential coronavirus vaccine to its most vulnerable citizens has been described as “unforgivable” and condemned by health charities and opposition politicians.....Hancock said the government believed there was a quicker way to source a vaccine for Britons." LibDem’s Layla Moran quote “Walking away from the EU vaccines scheme is putting ideology ahead of public health. You would think that during a pandemic ministers would put political dogma aside. But it seems for this government it’s Brexit over vaccines” Labour’s Ruth Cadbury quote “Brexit = leaving the EMA = longer waits & higher prices for new drugs” "Gina Miller praised the EU scheme and mocked Matt Hancock for saying an independent Britain could do it faster. She launched a campaign for the UK to join the EU’s vaccine procurement, saying quote, “make sure Britain doesn’t fall to the back of the queue for a coronavirus vaccine.” Nuff said |

| Lifted from the Guardian and relating to Johnsons catastrophic foray into Scotland
"Still, that was nothing compared with the hypocrisy of his insistence that he “believed in the power of doing things together”. At times like this you wonder whether Johnson takes everyone for fools, simply has no conscience, or no memory. Or all three. Boris has only ever believed in doing what was good for Boris. Collaboration is a one-way street for any narcissist.
Johnson just had time to dodge questions on Desmond Swayne’s lockdown scepticism and “the teething problems” of his sellout of the Scottish fishing fleet before wrapping things up with a near incoherent summary of his day.
I quote verbatim: “If [the vaccine is] approved by the MHRA then we will have 60m doses of it by the end of this year for the whole of the British people. And so it’s a success for Scotland. Uh, it’s a success for, uh, Britain and, uh, it’s a success for Britain because it is a success for Scotland. It’s a success for Scotland because it’s a success for Britain.
“So, uh, I’m, uh, you know, it was very, very encouraging to see it. That’s, that’s … I may have done some other things as well while I have been here although I can’t immediately recollect what they are. It’s been an action-packed day and always a joy to see you.”
........................................................
Once again drunk doubtless. Nobody who was stone cold sober could possibly come up with that. Tragic it really is. |
