The "deadly new variant" stories are getting on my tits. Old Covid 10 in 1000 die, new deadly variant 13-14 in 1000 die. FFS! If it were three time deadlier it's still a tiny percentage and the government will just stop people listening to alarmist crap like that. If they would just enforce the rules things would soon calm down.

We all know what (who) is responsible for the increased death rate . Far too late locking down, Christmas get togethers, no testing at airports, infected patients returned to care homes, "world class" (LOL) test and trace farce. When the enquiry happens that should be the end for Bozo.

i do worry when the lockdowns start to be eased off as like with last time when crowds of people packed out pubs and restaurants with households having as many guests as poss around at the first opportunity they got forgetting the virus is still active causing more harm than good in the long run.

when they start to be eased that needs to be addressed so all this 3rd lockdown is isn't for nothing vaccinces included and it the last one we have at least on this scale.

The boffins are saying they are not too sure if the new variant is 30% deadlier.

AFP: Police used water cannon and dogs in Amsterdam, public television NOS reported, after hundreds gathered to protest the curfew which is set to last until February 10 and is the country’s first since World War II.

In the southern city of Eindhoven, police fired tear gas to disperse a crowd of several hundred, regional television Omroep Brabant reported. At least 30 people were arrested there, according to police.

A number of vehicles were burned and businesses at Eindhoven’s central train station were also looted, media reports said.

The EU has threatened to block exports of coronavirus vaccines to countries outside the bloc such as Britain

The UK has administered more than 10 doses per 100 residents but according to data gathered by Airfinity, a London-based life sciences analytics company, the EU has administered just under two doses per 100 residents.
