Paul Mariner is currently in hospital in the states recovering from having a tumour removed on his brain. Speedy recovery Paul one of the greatest argyle players of all time and imo should be another who has a statue erected at home park in the future and not another second hand tarp tent named after him.

Swift recovery indeed and agree entirely over a statue. Achieved the very highest levels after leaving us including the WC

Just the best player to play for Argyle in my time and probably anyone else's time. Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery Paul.

He was the main reason I started supporting Argo as a kid. Gutted when he went to Ipswich. Get well soon!

No question at all. The best.
Out of interest did anyone here travel on that special arranged coach to watch Ipswich at Derby after Mariner signed for them late 1976. Pretty sure it was run by the Far Post from memory. I must have been about 16...memories of cheering Mariner on (he may have been sub ?) and Derby fans who we were in with thinking are these tossers Ipswich fans in our end lol
