Plus from Middlesbrough

Warnock traditionally spends a portion of his club’s pre-season build-up in Cornwall, where he also lives.

While he hasn’t confirmed how many warm-up games Boro will play, he’s hinted that some will take place in the North-east and others in Cornwall.

In terms of dates, he wasn't too specific but suggested the club would play games on September 2 and 5/6.

thats not a bad idea keep it local for the staff and players, let them spend more time at home without having to commute to plymouth.

WHERE ATD GOES THE HERALD FOLLOWS

Plymouth Argyle set to be pre-season hosts for Neil Warnock's Middlesbrough

Plymouth Argyle will share their training facilities with Neil Warnock's Middlesbrough squad later this month as both clubs prepare for the 2020/21 EFL campaign.

News of Middlesbrough's trip to the south-west first came in a social media post on Wednesday from Liskeard Athletic, who stated that Warnock had chosen their home ground, Lux Park, as a training base.

That led to talk of Middlesbrough playing Argyle in two behind-closed-doors pre-season games.

Pilgrims' boss Ryan Lowe was asked about that possibility during a Press conference at Home Park this morning.

Lowe said: "I have spoken to Neil quite a bit actually. He is coming down, yeah.
