| Mentor and coach to Cooper and emergency no 2? Mind you he's still 15 years younger than Taribo was when we signed him. |

| This says to me that Lowe thinks Cooper is ready to step up to the mark, with a tried and trusted replacement there if he wavers at all. |

he's past his best. If we are going with Copper as number 1 we should have someone capable of pushing him as nothing will be gained like it was with mccormick and bittner when luke had no competition by having one decent keeper and a sub standard backup. |

| Disagree Luke was a very good CCC keeper and Cooper could learn loads off him same as Luke did with Larrieu. |

how long ago was that? well over ten years ago im guessing and he spent the prime of his career in prison while we were in the championship bar the season he was first choice. i wouldn't say hes the perfect role model for a young keeper who has more talent than he does. Larrieu would be more adpt if copper has to have a mentor. I think he needs competition myself not a has ben. |

I agree with you hes probably cheap and I can't argue that he'd be real competition to Cooper (if he is then Cooper should feck off anyway) but Luke was a classy keeper who I don't hink we would have had if we hadn't bought him on ourselves. He must have played over 500 games at a decent level he's a quality keeper end of. |

| The way I see it is Lowe and his coaches obviously rate Cooper as a real prospect. Genuine young goalkeeping prospects don’t grow on trees, so to have one come through for the first time since McCormick nearly 20 years ago, is really good for us. Hopefully he shines bright, and makes us a lot of money in two or three years. |

I have said elsewhere that if he was coming back as an emergency backup to copper and another but mainly as a youth team coach i wouldnt have a problem with that as much but not under these conditions. oh well. |

| Great signing under the circumstances. Ryan Lowe clearly believes Cooper can do the job but with a talented experienced back up keeper in Luke pushing him. Notable that Swindon wanted him to stay and extend his contract.
Welcome back Luke.... |

| Very surprised to see this on the news this morning. Pleasant surprise as always liked McCormick. Wouldn't be adverse to seeing him as the number 1 either. Now need to address attacking options |

Now need to address attacking options typical janner mentality right here living in the past. |

| The Mc Cormick signing looks like a huge backward step to me, and somewhat short sighted, don't want to get into the history but he comes with a lot of baggage as Suffers says, and splits the fanbase. I suspect Ryan is talking up stuff again and Cooper will be second choice to another loanee. |

If we were getting another keeper we wouldn't have signed Mcormick, he's coach/mentor and backup emergency two IMO. |

| Did we jump the gun?
West Bromwich Albion have been linked with a move for Swansea City goalkeeper Steven Benda.
According to The Sun, the Baggies are keen to bring in competition for Sam Johnstone after promotion to the Premier League was sealed last month.
West Brom want to sign two new goalkeepers according to reports with Palmer likely to head out on loan with Griffiths in 2020-21. |

West Brom want to sign two new goalkeepers according to reports with Palmer likely to head out on loan with Griffiths in 2020-21. We need to go for Palmer again if we can. He is too good not to want back regardless to whether we signed McCormick who Palmer is miles better than him in anycase. Let the sainted drink driver start his gk coach transformation now in the youth setup and have him as a emergency backup to those two who can push and compete with each other for the number 1 spot. |

| I'll be surprised if Ryan Lowe even mentions it. Luke is signed. Cooper though number 1 getting his richly deserved chance |

not so sure on this one harve ..Where they have rapped this kid up in so much cotton wool over the years ..then just to sling him in L1 with no experience whatsoever It’s clear LMC Has been brought in for coaching plus stand in for any keeping emergency’s as well When he left I still thought he had two years still in him at that level ..but not so sure about him Now fitness wise thought ..I still think we need a experience Keeper I do everything possible to get Matthews back. As for Cooper if there gunna go down that route it could make or break the lad ..I wouldn’t take that gamble on such a important position in the team |
