Yeah, can confirm I started the thread back in January. Back then the news was still sketchy.

When a thread reaches 41/42 pages it is automatically locked at 40 pages and the rest starts a new one.

We've got our first guests coming next week it's already looking like July will be busier than last year. Still had lots of people about half of which are eastern Europeans funnily enough really hassling to book this week and they are totally oblivious to the July 4th date they really do believe it's all go now.

Spoons in Tavvy was queuing out the door at 10am.

Well the good British folk did not fail to let us down then, plenty of stories and photos in the rags today.

Could have gone down the Embassy Club yesterday, decided not to as I felt it would be a tad busy and a bit risky. Low and behold, the place was packed all day and night, with the police closing it down for an hour - so I have been told.

No idea what the city centre or Mutley was like.

A boffin elsewhere has said he expects 100s of new cases per day and 1000s of deaths due to the pubs et al reopening.

A head honcho of the police is also concerned by lack of social distancing.

Spoons in Tavvy actually ended up with only a few people in there. There isn't a huge appetite for pubs apart from the young, they don't think it's a risk but then they go home and spread it to their rellys.

On our local fbook site they showed people Camping outside the local spoons waiting for it to open the next day.

Reports coming out of the USA suggesting a lot of young folk now catching it due to the relaxation of restrictions and what not over there. Seen one or two videos of these young ones partying etc, with no social distancing at all.


I was listening to the World Service last night and a scientist was saying that masks need to be worn all the time due to the aerosols in the air. He went on to say that social distancing of 2m, or 1m +,  is too small and should be further. He and many of his colleagues have written a sternly worded letter the World Health Organisation telling them they are not putting emphasis on said aerosols and that covid-19 will be a major thorn in the side of humanity for sometime to come unless drastic measures are put in place.

Covid-19 is flaring up in countries who thought they had it under control, so with that in mind, give it three to five weeks and it will no doubt be running rampant again here.

It is so weird when a bus passes by and everyone is wearing a mask, sort of reinforces the danger level we currently live within. When I have ventured into town there are not many wearing masks, the numbers are in the low percentage.

This virus is a swine of a virus so they keep telling us, a small percentage of covid-19 survivors are experiencing odd medical  conditions for weeks on end.

I don't wear a mask usually, however, I do have a mask in my pocket when I get out and about, just in case.

There is too much division within the scientific community regarding covid-19. You have one lot that are all guns blazing, while the other lot look on flabbergasted, the politicians are no better.

Three pubs in England forced to close after customers tested positive  for covid-19. The local-ish one to us up in Somerset, the landlady there rang every customer that was in her pub on Saturday, fair shout to her. The staff had tests and are negative. The pub itself is having a deep clean and is is hoping to reopen in a few days.

Though what Remainers or the Mossad (I assume you meant) have to do with the death number God alone knows.

See the shambolic Tories have been backtracking all day after the appalling attack by Johnson on the care homes.
