- Ryan Lowe has revealed the reason why striker Ryan Taylor was missing from the squad for the 3-2 League Two win away to Salford City on Tuesday.
Taylor was ruled out by a recurrence of a foot problem which has troubled him for much of this season.
The 31-year-old made his comeback from the injury as a substitute in the Pilgrims' 1-0 home win against Newport County on February 1.
He then also came off the bench at the start of the second half as Argyle lost 3-0 away to Colchester United on Saturday.
However, Taylor took a blow to the same foot which had been giving him so much trouble and as a result he did not feature against Salford.
Instead, Taylor was sent for a scan in Sheffield and Argyle are awaiting the results.
Argyle manager Ryan Lowe said: “When he came on (against Colchester) he took a whack on the same foot.
“He has actually gone home to Sheffield because we can get scans there quicker than we can in Plymouth.
“Hopefully it’s not too bad but he has took a nasty whack. He had only been on the pitch for five minutes.
“He’s not having the best of luck at the moment. But when one goes down we have Dom Telford on the bench.”
Lowe added: “Dave (Argyle’s head physio Dave Galley) booked a scan for him in Sheffield.
“So he travelled up with the lads (on Monday) and we let him off halfway and he went to Sheffield to see his family.
“It was just a heavy whack on the top of his foot but he has had that issue for a while.”
Taylor has been limited to 18 appearances this season, including nine starts, and scored three goals.
However, most of those matches came in the first couple of months of the 2019/20 campaign.
Telford, meanwhile, had made his comeback from a hamstring injury when he played the first half of Argyle’s 4-0 Premier League Under-23 Cup defeat by Everton at Home Park on Monday.
He then travelled up to the north-west after the game, along with goalkeeper Mike Cooper and midfielder Adam Randell, to join up with the rest of the first team squad. Whoever idea it was to give him a 2 year deal needs shooting. Cut your losses argyle and cancel his contract now. |

| Maybe Blondie could re-release Heart of Glass and substitute ankles for heart, to pay for his ongoing medical costs? |

| Fookin shame because he's a great striker when fit. Mind you if he wasn't crocked we wouldn't have had a sniff of him. |

| Ryan Taylor -13 goals in 94 games over four years.
I would say he's useless all the time...

most of those goals came during a purple patch he had which to be fair he was great but still had injury woes should never have been given a 2 year deal as early as he did at the end of that season its been a wasted of money considering the amount of games hes missed in that 2 years. |

| A decent earner at the club and an absolute waste of money. Worked well in Adams system but was never going to suit the new regime. Lowe dropped a bollock claiming that he is a 20 goal a season striker, blokes not even got 20 games in him. Release ASAP |

I suppose you thought Mickey Evans was useless as well? He didn't score many goals either. If you had watched him during the promotion season you would understand, game after game he put his body on the line. To say he was useless is plain ignorant |

| Taylor can be really good when he's fully fit. The problem is he's never fit for a long enough period to prove himself. When his contract expires which I think is this summer don't renew it and get rid. It would better for us to get someone else in who's fully fit. |

| I haven't seen anybody asking that Taylor is re signed in the summer but you can't deny that for the half a season or so he was fit he was a great player for us. That fact also speaks volumes for the shite we've had to watch over the last few years. |

| He’s a valuable player to be able to call on, but the only way I’d even dream of entertaining any type of deal would be on a pay-as-you-play. Any type of conventional new contract offer would be impossible. |

He gave defences a good battle, trouble was the season Adams "ran out of players" he got played every game nad never seemed to recover. |

| Chris Errington has tweeted that Taylor's injury isn't too bad- Argyle striker Ryan Taylor will not be sidelined for long after his latest injury setback. Ryan Lowe: “The scan has come back and he’s fine. We have just let him stay at home for a couple of days to rest up." [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

| "gone home to sheffield" FFS. Next thing, we'll be hearing that Pilgrim Pete commutes from Rochdale!
Does no one with the Club live locally?
Rugby has London Irish, football has Plymouth Northern shithouses.
Perhaps the best chance of promotion rests with a swift completion of HS2 |

Larryo, Frio, Halmosi, Timar and Nalis weren't even fookin English FFS! Most Clubs stipulate in contracts that players must live within x miles of the ground-hard to do when the Manager keeps "going home" to Lancashire. Luggy lived in Plymouth, Trigger had/has a Plymouth based builders firm. Don't know where Larrieu and Frio resided, but damn sure they didn't hop on a cross channel ferry after training every day. Bet Liverpool didn't let Van Dyke stay in Hampshire when they signed him! 0-3 down at Colchester after half an hour, 5 loan players thinking, "So what, I won't be at this club in 3 months time", the rest thinking "Great, miss promotion and get a free transfer to a club that's not fecking hundreds of miles from home" But then, why should the players or staff live locally when the Owner only visits on his holidays. Club's a feckin joke! |

| Has Lowe rented (like Pulis) or bought a place (like Luggy) Have his wife and kids moved with him?
Is it so strange that I want a Manager who's fully committed to Plymouth Argyle? |

Is it so strange that I want a Manager who's fully committed to Plymouth Argyle? What’s strange - very very strange, is that you are clearly more concerned with Lowes personal life, than his professional life - i.e. trying to get Argyle promoted. WTF will you moan about if he were to get us promoted while disgustingly living in a rented apartment? |
