I had to go to Greenbank yesterday for emergency dental work whilst I was in there my missus saw a woman come out with her daughter, slam the door that as patients we shouldn't be touching called everybody pricks and cnuts and wheelspan away. This was 2pm and she wasn't even drunk. I despair.
The paramedics that took my old man in last week (who is much better btw) said how different their job is without the pissed up overload of twats they get in every weekend. This is something we have to crack down on.

If she has been abusive to staff then they should strike her off the patients list and warn the other practices about her.

One of the (many) jobs I had before I got settled in my current one post de mob was doing security up at Derriford Hospital, you would not believe some of the utter knobs we had to deal with up there on a daily basis.

Just observing possibly... and learning how such meetings work.

More of a problem is those "experts" on SAGE who have links to big drug etc companies and the pressure they will come under to influence results in a certain direction ?

Your comment about common sense and thought also applies to some of the journalists who ask questions at the daily briefing like the one from Bristol the other day who stated that infections and deaths in Bristol and the South West was lower than the rest of the country so could they come out of lockdown sooner than everyone else.

For once I think Harve has raised a fair point here. This is why we locked down to late because the scientists were held back by the politicians who were representing the business interests.

A mate of mine was repatriated from India yesterday, his experience of Heathrow yesterday was the same as mine on 24th March, deserted airport, not even a temperature taken!

The defence of Cummings being in the SAGE meetings sounded plausible in that SAGE are there to report directly to the government so why shouldn't they he in the meetings? I briefly thought fair enough but upon reflection why is the government party to the discussions leading to the report? They shouldn't be IMO that's where they could influence the conclusions.

Just read a report about the Mayor of Manchester, Andy Burnham, who is suggesting he will reopen bars and restaurants soon.

Boris won't like that.

the whole lockdown has been a joke from the very start and imo has failed badly so much so in month we have seen well over and probably doubled the 20,000 minimum death rate predicted and its still rising .
Perhaps that's a result of it not being enforced sooner but i feel its also down to too a few and a growing number of them breaking isolations to go into crowded areas which ruins the whole point of trying to contain it and get back to normal as soon as possible.
Police haven't a clue what they should be speaking too and/or indeed fining people for violations made when they don't even know what is ok or not as the government has been so blase with the terms and conditions.

We will see a second wave very soon cause as a nation we have too many hypocrites who clap for the NHS on a thursday night yet will break the curfews willy nilly the rest of the time.

Those same business interests who are now pushing for an end to total lock down, most of whom are major donors to the Tory party.
