Of course it won’t happen because we are basically greedy capitalist bastards.
The Trump administration are still blaming China for this and it may be they who lead global efforts to get some kind of a payback from China ?
China know that they have made a right mess of this. In just over three months we have over a million infected and thousands of deaths globally, and worse is to come china are covering it up still, the world should be demanding a receipt for this. It's been pretty obvious that they haven't exactly been 100% truthful. We should never have allowed anyone back from there once the story broke and to not quarantine anyone coming back is simply cutting people's throats. |

| It does make me laugh at how the common consensus is that taxes will be raised for all post corona to cover furlough costs and yet even the cost of furloghing would be a drop in the ocean in comparison to the cost of funding illegal wars in Iraq and Afghanistan that had no benefit to UK whatsoever apart from the advancement of the state of Isreal. Maybe the banks should be made to cover the cost of furloughing, after all we the british public bailed the banks out in 2008. We all know who runs the banks |

Common consensus would be right then Rishi Sunak has already said NI will have to be increased in the near future I actually think the Government are being incredibly generous in the overall financial support though some people will fall through the net |

| What amazed me was that what I had considered must be the enormous cost of furloughing so many people for up to three months is said to be around 10 billion pounds. Puts into perspective the fact we are due to pay the EU 40 billion pounds as a divirce settlement |

Puts into perspective the fact we are due to pay the EU 40 billion pounds as a divirce settlement You sure its only £10 Billion ?? Sunak has "pledged" (not paid out) over 3 tranches now I think its £612 Billion in total to be made available.(Budget onwards) If we get away with only a £10 billion hit we'll have done well |

I read yesterday that a Chinese billionaire has sent over some medical supplies to the NHS. 50 ventilators, gowns and masks to name three. If the story is bona fide, then fair shout. Talking to a friend- and others - outside the local co-op earlier and they were saying the strain of the lockdown is starting to get to them. We are nearly at the two week stage and on a wider national scale, others must starting to feel the strain too. God knows what the mood will be like in the weeks and months to come. I am ok with it so far but, as time goes on that could change. Watched a programme on Channel Four last night - after the news - looking at what next in the covid-19 crisis and there was a scientist who said that if people think the virus will slow down in the warmer months, they should think again. He went on to say that the virus is spreading in warmer climes right now. That is worrying.

| "The strain of the lockdown" lol, hardly full lockdown when exercise, shopping etc is still permitted. The human race has never had so many forms of in-home entertainment to feast upon, some people seriously need to get a grip, if this continues to get worse and a full lockdown is enforced the limp wristed among us will be teetering on the brink, Amazon, Ebay etc are still open for business [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

| Whatever the purpose or name of the payment Hugh, it’s a huge amount of money, particularly if furloughing so many UK residents for so long ( I’m sure a period of up to 3 months was mentioned on the radio) will cost only a quarter of this sum. I wasn’t trying to open up old rifts or anything. Just made me think about the money as such big amounts are often difficult to quantify. |

Innit Les. There’s next to fuckall ‘locked down’ as far as people’s liberties are concerned as far as I can see. People can pretty much literally go anywhere and dress it up as either part of their daily exercise or they’re going to the shop. And we’ve had glorious sunshine for the last fortnight. It winds me up. My fat Cnut of a neighbour, who prior to lockdown wouldn’t walk 100yds if their life depended on it, has never spent so much time outside. Coming back after adding to the numbers at our local shop every feckin day with her cake and chocolate tucked under her feckin bingo-winged arm. Yep. It fuckin winds me up. |

No I dont think they/we will Too much care in the community goes on for the elderly disabled and infirm. My mother would simply just die no question without assistance if left too long |

Glad were out of it. I expect the EU will tell Spain, Italy and France to go fukc themselves the same as they did with Greece when the population was literally starving. Not a very caring institution IMO. |

I hope the government and their experts do not bring in more stringent measures down the line. I read yesterday that they are looking at how to exit the semi lockdown when that is feasible. Like I stated in my original post, I am ok with the situation as it is, I pop up to the co-op every 2/3 days and do the odd plod around the block now and again.

| I said to my missus last week I wondered if he was seriously ill because we haven't seen him video linking the nation telling us all not to worry about his minor symptoms ect. I also saw that a tiger had tested positive to coved in Bronx Zoo. Isolated case or more worryingly that the virus can be spread species to species? No cats round here seem to be on lockdown. |
