| ARGYLE manager Ryan Lowe has added Scotland Under-21 international striker Ryan Hardie to his Pilgrims squad.
Ryan, 22, comes to Home Park on loan from Blackpool for the second half of the Sky Bet League Two season.
The Stranraer-born forward began his career with Rangers, playing 17 times for the Glasgow side, and has also enjoyed successful and productive loan spells north of the border at Livingston, Raith Rovers and St Mirren.
He moved to League One Blackpool last summer and has made 11 appearances for the Seasiders since.
Ryan will wear No.18 as a Pilgrim.
Welcome to Home Park, Ryan. |

| Doesn't look that prolific apart from a 6 month loan spell in the Scottish Championship with Livingston last season. Blackpool bought him from Rangers for an undisclosed fee, he has scored once this season in the EFL trophy. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

| A Hardie Journey Ryan's Path to Home Park Just now Sponsored by Rick Cowdery @Only1Argyle IN Ryan Hardie, Argyle manager Ryan Lowe has brought a striker to Home Park who has scored goals wherever he has played in his short, but highly productive, career. The 22-year-old Scot has joined the Pilgrims for the second half of the Sky Bet League Two season on loan from Blackpool, who he signed for from Ladbrokes Premiership side Rangers last summer. A product of the Glasgow side’s Auchenhowie Academy, he made his first-team debut for Rangers in September 2014 as a substitute in a Scottish League Cup match against Falkirk. The 6ft 2in striker’s first senior start followed in a Scottish Championship game at Dumbarton in April 2015, when he scored twice to help Rangers come from behind to win 3-1, and his 17 appearances for Rangers included seven in the Premiership. During his time at Ibrox, Ryan was loaned out to Championship side Raith Rovers, who he helped to the 2015-16 Premiership play-offs and scored 14 times in 34 games in two spells that came either side of a loan to another Championship club, St Mirren, where he scored three times in 17 appearances. A third loan, to Livingston, was even more successful, helping the Lions to win promotion to the Premiership in 2018 as he scored 15 goals from 39 appearances at the Tony Macaroni Arena, split between the Championship and the top-flight. He took his scoring knack into the international arena, with 12 goals in 36 appearances for his country at every age-group from Under-16 to Under-21. Three of those goals came in the 2017 Toulon Tournament in which Scotland’s Under-20s came third after losing to Neil Dewsnip’s England in the semi-final. Last July, Ryan moved to League One Blackpool, following in the studmarks of former Ibrox graduates Joe Dodoo and Jordan Thompson, who he also played with at Livingston. He was soon back amongst the goals at Bloomfield Road, scoring in only his second start as a Seasider, a 5-1 Leasing.com Trophy victory over Morecambe, one of 11 games he has played for the Tangerines in the first half of the season. | Reading some of the twitter comments, he is supposed to be very quick but little end product. Hopefully not another Rudden. |

| It's more than a bit concerning that Blackpool don't want him. Not good enough for L1. All these names being banded about - Pittman, Akinde etc - by wishful thinking fans. When will they ever learn. 4th division it is for at least another season then. |

Lol it seems that the absolute certainty that Hallett was going to dig deep in January is now being watered down with a little reality. |

| I don't really understand all this statistical information that is coming into the game, but this article suggests that although Hardie scored better than the average striker in the Scottish Championship last season, he should have scored more goals than he did. He seems to have an issue with shot selection (decision making), and the article recommends that he has the right coaching to correct this (maybe Lowe can help?). Looking at Rudden's Argyle appearances I think he is very similar in that he often makes the wrong decision in the box (usually trying to punch the ball rather than heading it ). Hopefully the Argyle coaches are aware of the Hardie article and can help this, although Rudden doesn't seem to have improved much (but he is younger). | Typical January signing, let's keep the club ticking over in the division of shite. There's no excuses now with the corporate facilities up and running. This second half season really should see us with one of the best budgets in this division, we shouldn't be linked with the Pitman's, we should be signing them ASAP, showing some fekn ambition. |
