| Local brewers Roam (formerly Tavy Ales) have moved to Hyde Park and opened a taproom. They make a range of real ales and more modern craft styles, and the head brewer is a top bloke. Not had the chance to go yet, but has anyone tried it? 15mins from the ground, it looks a better bet than getting your elbows out at the Brit, or drinking the average, over-priced stuff at the ground. |

| Went in there for a couple before the Colchester game and really enjoyed it. Beer was excellent (there's also a guest lager, not sure if there was cider) and there's pizza if you need a quick lunch option. Would highly recommend. |

Didn't know they were doing food. If the WiFi is decent I could just stay there, listen to the match online, and mug off all the Home Park weirdos! (Present company excepted, of course...) |

| The 'strict' set of rules at one of Plymouth's most popular pubs
The Rising Sun in Higher Compton
It is understood the pub - which dubs itself as "the friendliest pub in town" - is now ran by the people behind The Hyde Park at the top of Mutley Plain.
The same rules have been in place at The Hyde Park for many years to discourage rowdy behaviour.
The rules state: The House Rules
"No baseball caps.
"No Hi-Vis.
"No work wear.
"No sportswear.
"No fancy dress.
"No large groups.
"Dogs and families very welcome.
"Many thanks, The Rising Sun."

| I think there’s some confusion here. The taproom isn’t at the Hyde Park pub. It’s at New Victoria House. |

| Yeah, I meant they've moved to the area of Plymouth called Hyde Park, which extends beyond the boozer! Although, in fairness to Tgwu, I tend to do pretty much all of my navigation using pubs as landmarks too. |

Geographically this is potentially a little bit of a master stroke. It must be pretty much right on the boundary of the Peverell area that has the ‘no licensed premises’ covenants. |

| Thanks for putting me right. As a non alcohol drinker has MikeWN say's using pubs for navigation a good way to get around. I go pass that entrance to New Victoria House many times in a week. Must drop in and have a look around.
It all the Quaker fault, but it did not stop the Hyde Park Social Club or in Pounds House |

Blimey, you do truly learn something new everyday, so is that triangulated from the Brit to the Cherry Tree to Mutley Plain? |

Stoke Climsland is another one all the pubs were bought by the Weslyans and turned into meeting houses. |

| Yeah. I’ve not set foot inside the Hyde Park since the current bellend has had it. |

| We've tried going in there only to be told that they didn't want large groups. Heaven forbid they actually sell some beer. there's supposed to be a microbrewery but nobody has ever seen it. |

It is bizarre that a pub on Mutley in Plymouth of all places can afford to pick and choose exactly who or what type of customer they would like to serve. They deserve to go to the wall. |

| Pennycombequick used to be fourth of quadrangle surrounding the quaker area. Lipson much the same.
Hyde Park pitching firmly at food these days. Where's this new place? The Lemon Frog dance studio opposite the co-op at Hyde Park supposed to have a license now. |

Wouldn't have thought so, they were who I was on about they had a big room upstairs but when it changed into a beards venue I think they only took on the downstairs and the upstairs was made into flats. |
