| Lolos seems to have done well since he came on. C Grant hit a 20 yarder against the bar. |

| Might not be the worst result in the long run.
Previous pre-seasons we beaten these little teams 2/3/4v0 and I think it's probably engendered an air of complancency when we've come to the season proper. This result will make clear to Lowe that what he has at the moment isn't close to good enough - might encourage him to get a ove on with the new signings. Better he finds this out now, then thinking everythings OK because we sneak a win against these sorts of sides.
Of course the real solution is 1) to play a number of proper league sides in pre-season and 2) not to always be on the back foot when it comes to player recruitment between seasons.
Will be interesting to see what he says in his press conference If we get the usual 'just about fitness' line then we might need to start worrying! |

| Some Twitter highlights- Sam Down @GreenSamPAFC Ignominious start to the Lowe era. We were clearly trying to play a less direct, more possession based style but it was like trying to teach the ballet to a walrus. I could see signs of what he was *trying* to do. But it wasn’t executed at all [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Argyle Life @ArgyleLife1886 Full-time in a turgid game in Truro. Truro 1-0 Argyle. The best you could say for Argyle is they were attempting to play Lowe’s style. But it didn’t go well and we didn’t create a huge deal. Defensive mix up cost us the goal [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Troy Hill @troyhill91 Lose one nil to our Cornish cousins but expose Scott Wootton as the absolute fraud he is. Would have snapped your hand off before the game. Shit result, brilliant outcome. Now we move forward [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Argyle Truth @ArgyleTruth Rumour has it Exeter are renaming their new stand the “Truro 0 Exeter 0” family end. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Cobi Budge @cobibudge1 Lowe is implementing an entirely new style, tonight is absolutely nothing to worry about, the majority of players worked under a different regime & worked to a very different style last season, it’s not going to immediately click following a couple weeks training. Patience. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

| Did the lads buy into Ryans new attacking methods and play for the shirt or will some be shown the highway out of HP? Were the Green Army treated to a feast of exciting attacking play or was it just about getting 45 mins into their legs? |

| Good result in the grand scheme of things because it screams loud and clear to Lowe that he has to shunt quite a few chancers up the road. |

| Aimson didn't play due to a Pelvic problem (according to Chris Errington on twitter). |

| First game and all that but worrying performance.
I cant see how many of these players fit into this style of play. Edwards looked a class above but Mayor looked uninterested. Hopefully I have misread that but I thought he slowed up play, didn't really take anyone on and didn't try anything that other than a simple pass. Wasn't demanding the ball and trying to dictate like the previous number 10.
The left overs from last season didn't seem to get it. Taylor still back to goal and coming short not heading forward. Jephcott, Dyson, Fletcher lack ideas to create at this level let alone League 2. The lad from Greece was the pick of the forward bunch, at least he faced forward and had a shot. At least 2 forwards needed.
Midfield we may need one more, may scrap through with what we have. Edwards, Mayor and Sarc probably nailed on starting 3. The Grants may be enough to make up the subs but Joel will need to do a lot better than tonight. He certainly didn't seem to be on the same page for the style of play especially short corners, turning his back and not being available.
Wing backs - 2 needed. Riley ok as a reserve, end product crosses and shots terrible but still head and shoulders above Moore. ASB ok, but Law and Sawyer aint going to be playing LWB even as a reserve so someone needed there.
Centre Half - I think 2 to go with Aimson but 1 at least. Canavan/Wooton/Sawyer/Peck (liked him) are good enough back ups. Wouldn't be surprised to see one of Canavan/Wooton be moved on.
Keeper - need 1 for backup, Holmes maybe the answer didn't see enough in 45 minutes to judge. Cooper to start for me, not sure we could find better at the moment
So I think 6-8 starting players needed which probably wont happen in this window. So I'm predicting another slow start if this bunch start at Crewe, maybe a late run towards play-offs if we add more in January. |

| More than a few missing the point that the ones you want "moved on" are simply under contract so unless Lowe pays up their contracts in full they're not obliged to go anywhere at this stage I reckon this morning RL has realised the size of his task |

| I knew there would be mouth frothing and screen jabbing if we lost (on Free Chat)
I've been saying for weeks that fans need to rein in their expectations. The sometimes orgasmic euphoria re Lowe was always going to end with huge dose of realism - and so it came to be
For my two-penneth - the game was nothing more than a fitness exercise, and for RL to see what he has in the larder. |

| It was also just a fitness exercise for Truro. We have more than a few players who are nowhere near good enough for L2. Miserable season ahead. |

| I don't disagree about fitness over results but having looked in the larder, he can't make a chicken curry with a pork chop and a bag of pasta.
And I don't think a Chairman who funded settling DA and PW contracts and has chucked in over 11mil so far will worry much about finding 100-150k to pay off a couple of journeymen in their last year of contract if that's what the manager wants. It won't happen before August but wouldn't be surprised to see some paid off in January. The manager has clearly said my way or the highway, lots of this squad will need road maps for Christmas. |

| We will be lucky not to get relegated at this rate. At present we have had the three best attacking players leave the club, possibly replaced one of them and retained all the actual parts of the squad responsible for shipping 82 goals last year. Losing to Truro is or should be a warning. Awaiting knee jerker comments. |
