There's literally dozens of atrocities that happen every day of the week. Just because posters don't comment, doesn't mean people haven't got an opinion on it, or aren't shocked or upset by it or deem it not "worthy of comment"

The cyclone in Africa is actually quite alarming, another climate related catastrophe. It was always said to be due to hit the poorest hardest.

I'm sure the nice Europeans in Italy will be lowering the drawbridge on the Med when the refugee boats begin sailing over.

The African cyclone is another massive tragedy but, at least, it is (arguably) an accidental massive tragedy. At least nobody deliberately caused it to happen and targeted it on specific people.

I'm equally sure we all support our overseas aid programme and will be encouraging governments across the world to do all they can to support the millions of people affected so viciously by sheer misfortune.

The UK is one of only seven countries to give the UN target of 0.7% of GDP in foreign aid and of that we can be rightly proud.

Good to see NZ acting so fast to ban semi automatics, assault rifles, extended magazines and mods to same rifles. Maybe the states should take note? Whilst being a big hunting nation, NZ boasts more introduced species than virtually any other with wild pigs, Red Deer and Goats playing havoc with native flora and fauna, whilst needing high velocity weapons to control these species humanely no one needs a hundred shot semi to do this. A semi auto btw is a self loading rifle not full machine gun but will fire and eject a round every time you pull the trigger. Most hunting rifles in the Uk are bolt action with only a three shot magazine. If the murderer in NZ had this sort of weapon whilst he undoubtedly would have killed people the time taken to reload would have given lots more people time to fight back or escape.
