Ahh, the old sleepers where my green sentence started all those years ago - at the base of the pylon if we were early enough. If it rained grandad took us under the Lyndhurst for shelter - oh the woft of backy & courage lingers in the mind!! Oh well!!

Used to love standing on them old sleepers in the Spion Kop. One of the best views of the ground on match days, imho.

It's funny how I remember the terraces being much bigger and much steeper. (Maybe I was smaller.) Could be because of the photo the pitch only looks to be about 25yds wide as well. I'm sure the railings were black as well.
