This Score/result shouldn't detract from the fact that Adams has shown the fans a lack of respect in the past few weeks, hopefully this is the start of moving on from this sorry saga
Adams actually said a small minority were involved, not the majority of the crowd just to put the record straight there. I was there on Saturday and looking at some of the people who were besieging the dressing rooms afterwards,it was difficult to disagree with him.The bad atmosphere seemed to start when Lameiras was substituted-maybe some people are going more on reputation rather than what was he was doing on the pitch, which didn't amount to very much and merited being taken off-must admit to being surprised though that Wylde came on,can't see what Joel Grant has done wrong and in fact has made quite an impact on previous occasions. Adams was very silly however to use that emotive language about cowards afterwards and is indeed playing with fire by antagonising people who will have no qualms about turning on him again should the opportunity arise.
Didn't go tonight but an excellent and much needed result to keep in touch with the pack.Looks as if Ladapo may be a far better player than his career hitherto would suggest, early days of course and he still has a long way to go but five goals in three home games is a great return by any standards and long may that continue.
Great win and played well which is fantastic. I wouldn't be so quick to be dusting off the del bhey is god banner just yet as there were glimpses that if we played an inform team they could have punished. As others have said we need to go on a run now to really say with conviction we have turned a corner and more importantly have confidence in staying up..
naturally some argyle fans are ***** and have already done the opposite lol.
nb the censored word isnt the C word btw lol

Carey was outstanding tonight. Great offensive performance but defensively we are uber-fragile. Gillingham had three or four gilt-edged chances and spectacularly missed them all, so the scoreline largely masks their pisspoor finishing.
These really are the games we need to be winning against poor teams though, so box ticked tonight.
Deserved that and although I agree that Gills had some good chances, Argyle also missed a fair few too.
Thought Ness was outstanding and Sarcevic got us right up the pitch quickly on a lot of occasions. If only he could shoot. Have failed to see the point of Conor Grant on the few previous times i’ve seen him play but he did well tonight at left back. All of them did well, even if we did still look suspect at the back at times.
Long way to go to speak of progress but a good tonic, nonetheless

I've never been a big fan of either Ness or Sarcevic but with them back we looked far more cohesive both defensively and going forwards. Ness in particular impressed me with his willingness to run, cover, tackle and use the ball simply when in possession. It was almost like having Stevie Adams back in the side.
Canavan marked the Gills giant [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] pretty much out of the game and that horrid rash of free headers we saw on Saturday seemed to be E45ed out of the game.
It was nice to see Joel Grant back in the team. Some of his ball play is really exceptional. He has a talent that few possess but really needs to do far more with it.
That new Grant chappy played at left back and got the cross in for Lapadapo's headed goal, albeit with a slight deflection. He's another with some talent on the ball but also needs to do more to put that ability to good use. No idea if he'll make a LB or not because he was barely tested defensively.
Lovely interplay down our left with Carey getting the assist to Ladadopo's lovely finish.
Lameiras off the bench came on and scored immediately which was great for us but for him it could well mean a supersub role from now on.
Can't say I recall that many chances in the game at all but we were good value for our goals when they came and we actually dominated possession for quite long spells.
Gillingham, who were poor, can have no complaints about the result and despite their mini-rally at the end we never looked to be troubled at all.
MotM: Ness.

Plymouth Argyle may have put in their best performance of the season in their 3-1 win over Gillingham but they didn't come through it unscathed.
Injuries have been a big problem for the Pilgrims this season, with 11 professionals out at once earlier in the campaign.
The return of Niall Canavan, Conor Grant and Jamie Ness has been very welcome but manager Derek Adams revealed the side have picked up more injuries elsewhere The Scot made five changes to his starting line-up for the game at Home Park, with Grant, Canavan, Yann Songo'o, Ness and Joel Grant all coming in.
Ashley Smith-Brown, Ryan Edwards, Peter Grant, Stuart O'Keefe and Ruben Lameiras were the players who made way.
Some of those were tactical decisions but others were forced because of injury. Adams said: "Ryan Edwards has an illness, he was out.
"O’Keefe has a slight Achilles injury and I obviously changed the team there.
"Smith-Brown had a slight knee injury as well, so we just changed things about.
"Conor Grant came in and Jamie Ness came in as well and we changed Ruben with Joel Grant."
The problem didn't stop there however, with a number of the substitutions during the victory also coming off because of knocks to his players.
Graham Carey, David Fox and Freddie Ladapo were the players replaced and it was the first two of those that were down to injury.
"He (Carey) had a stomach problem, so we called him to come off.
"David Fox had a foot injury, we took him off and we took Freddie off just to give Luke Jephcott a run out as well.

Agree with you about Moore but thought Sarcevic did OK. More to the point the midfield functioned as a unit.

Ness especially but also Sarcevic are very good players. If you can keep them fit long enough. I also think Ladapo with a run of games a few confidence boosting goals could become a very player at this level.

Overly long by about 9 minutes. I was one of the first on here to put a thumbs up for this video view of games, and still like the idea, the pitch side view of the game, and appreciate the time it takes to edit. But cut it down for heaven's sake. 3 minutes tops is all I can take. Having to put up with weekly views of players signing autographs is pointless .... And yes, it was a great sunset, I caught it elsewhere, without the silly music. A good idea of a format that needs to find itself a new rhythm. There's a reason why pop/love songs last 3 minutes week in week out..zzzzzzzzzzz
