AN experienced Pilgrims side fought back from a goal down to beat Cheltenham Town 3-1 in their first Central League game of the season.
Despite dominating, the Greens were unable to find an opening at the Robins’ Quat Goose Lane training ground and were behind at the break.
Former Exeter City player Liam McAlinden opened the scoring on the 38th minute for the home side, a lead they held until the hour mark.
The Pilgrims then came back with three quick-fire goals in the space of 15 minutes to take control of the game.
First, Dan Rooney’s fierce shot found the woodwork and defender Scott Wootton put the rebound past Rhys Lovett in the Cheltenham goal.
Just one minute later, Ryan Taylor put his side in the driving seat, getting on the end of a cross from Reuben Lameiras to tap home at the far post.
Ten minutes from the end, Alex Fletcher, who came on as a half-time substitute for his namesake Battle, found himself one on one and fired a low shot past the 'keeper to complete the scoring.
