John Akinde’s time at the Hive is almost at an end after Barnet confirmed they have accepted a fee for the striker.
The forward, who has scored 87 goals in 171 league outings, was made available for transfer at the end of last season following the Bees’ relegation from the Football League.
A statement on the club website read: “Barnet Football Club can this evening confirm that it has agreed a fee with an unnamed club for the transfer of John Akinde.
“The deal is now subject to the player agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.”
Akinde’s probable imminent departure comes after John Still continued his reshaping of the Bees squad by bringing in three midfielders from former club Dagenham & Redbridge, taking the number of summer arrivals to eight.
Former West Ham United and Birmingham City youngster Charlee Adams, is a 23-year-old central midfielder, 26-year-old Daniel Sparkes plays on the left, while 33-year-old Trinidadian Andre Boucaud has also moved to the Hive on a two-year deal.
