| Has Signed for us. The left-back joins us from Premier League champions Manchester City for an undisclosed fee. £16000 no doubt. England youth international Ashley, who turned 22 this year, has been with the Citizens since he was five. He has had several loan spells away from the Etihad, including at NAC Breda in Holland and north of the border with Heart of Midlothian. Welcome |

This is James Brent we are talking about here, that fee will be as low as it gets as i gather man city wanted to move him on to make room for new YTS crop and he had a year or two left on his deal. Im sure the avivas will be jizzing at the thought brent spent some money and in turn proved all nay sayers wrong but he hasnt so, as you were. |

Yeah exactly still shocking though, 1 Him paying money and 2 Man city wanting a fee. they could easily afford to pay him off, Least at the end of the day, Least Sawyers got some competition and not running unopposed for left back, Not a well known name but might be good seeing as he was at man city, but then again might turn out shite. |

| ASHLEY Smith-Brown comes to Home Park from the Premier League champions Manchester City.
Manchester-born, Ashley joined City’s acclaimed Academy at just five years-old and progressed through various youth age-groups, captaining the Under-18s to their league title.
He has represented England many times at all age-groups from Under-16 to Under-20, but found it impossible to make the final leap from City's development squad into their first team of many talents.
As is the norm with so many young players, he headed out on his first of three loan spells to Dutch side NAC Breda who currently ply their trade in the Eredivisie – Holland’s top flight – but, in 2016-17, were playing in the Erstie Divisie.
Smith-Brown was a mainstay in that side, making 30 appearances in all and helping his team gain promotion through the play-offs, sealing the achievement with a 4-1 triumph over NEC Nijmegen in 2017.
Last season, he was went out to Heart of Midlothian in the Scottish Premiership but a horrid time with injuries meant he only played three times for the Jambos, and completed a full 90 minutes on only one occasion.
He was subsequently recalled by City in January and went to Oxford United in League One for the second part of the campaign, playing nine times, including in United’s 1-0 defeat by us at the Kassam Stadium in February. |

| Lol. "It is the latest in a list of niggling problems for the young full-back, although he could be back in contention to face St Johnstone at BT Murrayfield next weekend. Groin, ankle and now pelvis injuries have prevented him kickstarting his time in Scotland since he agreed a season-long loan from City during the summer. He has completed just one full game for Hearts so far. Medical staff at Riccarton sent him back to England recently to have the pelvic area looked at. It was agreed that the player should rest and then spend time gradually reintroducing himself to training." Read more at: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] ... -1-4586270 |

A lot of Argyle's new signings are very young. Burgoyne, Dyson, Grant, Smith-Brown, barely older than our own academy graduates. It looks for the first time like we're building for the future rather than a 12 month season objective. |

| The latest Nick Chadwick. Maybe he can do a bit on the argyle world commentary thing, although being on a football club's books since the age of five doesn't bode well for the word smifffffy thing. |

Another cheap awful non league signing, good youth player but shit at Hearts and Oxford also injury prone, another little Akkeron Argyle end of line recruit. |

I'm all for that but the rebuilding every season kinda gets you down, It is only Sonny, Oscar and Aaron Taylor that is the ones that needs to be replace. All the other signing is to strengthen the squad which was our let down last season. So it not that many for a rebuild but to strengthen the squad in deep. |
