Talk to the coaching staff this morning, surprise that there is only three to four players let go. told them did not want to know the names, Wotton said should be in todays Brent herald as they knew the retain list yesterday.

I read that Adams hopes to make 8 or 9 new signings in the summer.

With Adams saying that some want to leave for more money, relocation, or playing at a higher level could see Threlkeld, Fox, Bradley, Taylor all going (assuming they are all out of contract and think that is the case).

Taylor out of contract but expect him to sign as he's just had the same ankle operated on again can't see any other club taking a punt on him other than us. Mcormick is one of the released players as well. Agree about Threlkeld, Fox and Bradley although we should be trying hard to get them to all stay.

He's already been announced though, hasn't he.

I'm only guessing. I don't even know if Paton's and Church's contracts are up.

The Dutch goalie has to be nailed on to go.

I've seen rumours that Fox wants to go (move closer to his family) and Bradley could be going; but I guess both will be offered contracts anyway.

In a weird way, part of us got lucky this year in that certain injuries/illness meant that we got Vyner, Roos, and Matthews in for long periods of the season - all improvements on the players they replaced - however they could not mask the lack of cover elsewhere (my kingdom for a striker!).

A big upheaval means more unknowns. We know our starting XI was pretty good, so I'd have kept the squad together as much as possible, then just brought in additional players on top so we could actually retain some level of consistency with an injury, suspension or two.

I don't buy that David Fox wants all of a sudden to go home to his family at all. He's played at Colchester, Argyle, Blackpool, Norwich across his career, and only has a year or two left in him. Unless we're going to offer him a reduced contract, which wouldn't surprise me given the whispers, are we really going to be outbid by feckin Crewe? Or, like Toums, is he going to go to another club, about 3 hours from Crewe, and they'll wash it off as 'for family reasons' regardless?

Kelle Roos is out of contract this summer.

It would appear Adams is not so much building a club, as building a career.  Sorry state of affairs, but it probably suits the present owners, and a few hangers on behind the grandsatnd..ooops, sorry, it's the Lyndhurst now.
They're going to have to get on with the GT shack, there's a lot of mouths to feed.
I suspect Adams is hoping the odd one or two will eventually sign the non negotiable offer. Maybe marriages should be conducted this way, sort of a renewal of vows and money share every 12 months, say before the start of every school term for those with children, and/or christmas for those with unfulfilled wandering lusts. Clearly some are not happy with what's on offer.

building squads from scrap on the cheap year after year isn't ideal but i guess brents ambition is paycheck to paycheck rather than the bigger picture.

So all the best players are leaving for better money and proper clubs, seven more years seven more years etc etc. The Brentmare goes on.

With seven players (if we assume Taylor accepts deal and none of the others leave) and Adams saying he wants to sign another eight players we would have a squad of 15 players. Shorely some mistake? He needs about eighteen by my reckoning.

I think you may be disappointed on those ones unless Derek has managed to work some magic.
Fox/Oscar want to move up north. Bradley wants cold hard cash.
