Could not agree more. First Lowe makes a personal donation and then internal departments donate £1100 is this to re kick the fans into digging deep in to their pockets again? The new flag will cost just over £2,000. They say they have over half way now with Lowe plus the departments £1100 that is well over £2000, getting greedy |

| Time to ditch the village carnival nonsense at Argo and tune in to we are in the bottom league and have a plan to get promoted THIS season. Giant crowd funded flags wont get promotion a decent well manged squad will. |

An exercise in trying to appear like you are engaging with the fans whilst hiring nodding donkeys and yes men to rubber stamp anything Brent said he wanted to do. Let's not forget most of these people were all for dentists and schools in the stadium. |

| Maybe they could crowd fund £2k worth of free tickets? That would add to the atmosphere more, but in reality as Vilage says its the team that fuels the atmosphere but only if they gave as much effort as the fans do. |

| Tomlinson stuck his head up about working group on Freechat and is an engineer at least so could have had a worthwhile input.
Strange how the only complaints about the development seem to be the colour scheme. Almost black green on the facade and cream seats....maybe they were thinking about scones when that vote was taken |

| Why don't the board concentrate on providing an excellent match day atmosphere by providing a top class footballing side to watch, or is that too obvious? |

| Waving flags as we kick off a new season in Division Four? How about we feel some embarrassment at having sunk so low (again). |

You’ve lost me here. What have ‘The Board’ got to do with some kid raising money for flags? |

You’ve lost me here. What have ‘The Board’ got to do with some kid raising money for flags? I thought the extra pennies or the donation came from Lowe's own pocket! |

| So this is why the buckets been back out
Passing along the huge 'We Are Argyle' flag, which is proudly held above the heads of the Green Army, has quickly become part of the staple diet for the matchday goer at Home Park. But there was a real danger that its sighting at the Scunthorpe United game could have been the last.
The flag was funded by Argyle fans group 'PAFC Displays' who purchased it last season and proudly unveiled it before games throughout last season, but since the Scunthorpe game, it has had a rough old time.
The flag was badly damaged over the summer and came close to being ditched when it appeared the damage was severe to repair.
But thanks to Plympton-based business Lang and Potter, the giant flag has been repaired and will once again be in use for Argyle's League Two campaign under new manager Ryan Lowe.
"Two weeks ago, we started our preparations for the new season by getting the ‘We Are Argyle’ flag into the Devonport End to air," PAFC Displays organiser Nick Tomlinson explained.
We did not anticipate how strong the winds would be that night. The following morning I had a phone call from Martin Bird, one of the groundsmen at Home Park. He told me that the entire top seven feet of the flag had torn off in the wind.
"At first I thought he was having some banter with me. Then he video called me to show me the damage."
Even Tomlinson could not have believed the extent of the damage
The bottom half had dropped to the front of the Devonport End where it then took a drenching from the sprinklers preparing the Home Park pitch.
"We could not put it away wet so we put it in stand to dry before we could take it somewhere to be repaired.
"Then we had a disaster and during the night it tore again.
The Green Taveners and PASOTI both contacted local business Lang and Potter, who took the flag to their Langage premises where, to our amazement, they repaired it in a very short period of time.
"They agreed to repair the flag free of charge, and also made us a bag to keep it in along with adding a PVC strip all the way around the outsides with eyelets, also free of charge.
"We are extremely grateful for this incredibly kind gesture."
PAFC Displays have spent the summer raising funds for a new flag to usher in the dawn of a new era under new boss Lowe. and so impressed was the Pilgrims boss that he chipped in towards the cost of the flag, which will stretch virtually the width and height of the Devonport End.
Tomlinson said: “It’s a great gesture from Ryan to donate some money, especially with the situation he has just come from at Bury, where the staff were not being paid.
Lowe himself added: “Of course I wanted to help out, if I can do something to make the atmosphere better around Home Park, then I will do. I think it will get the place rocking and that will help us.
PAFC Displays are always looking for donations to contribute towards the cost of flags and displays during the course of a season.
wish these cnuts would feck off |

| Didn't get the windprof one then..... twats The unveiling of the enormous new Plymouth Argyle flag for the Devonport End at Home Park has been postponed. It has become another victim of the weather forecast of heavy rain and high winds over the next 24 hours. The unveiling should have taken place at Argyle’s League Two game against Colchester United tomorrow, but will now take place on another date. PAFC Displays raised £1,200 from donations by fans towards the new flag, which is 65 feet high and 207 feet long (19.5 metres x 63m), and Argyle donated £1,100 as well. Nick Tomlinson, of PAFC Displays, said: “It’s not a decision that has been taken lightly. “But with the amount of money donated towards it, it’s not something we want ruined after one game. It’s not something that can be replaced easily and we want to keep it as clean as possible and free from damage.” To put into perspective the sheer size of the new flag, the previous ‘We are Argyle’ one measured 65 feet by 85 feet (19.5m x 25m). Potential new dates for the unveiling are Tuesday, August 20 when Argyle host Salford City or on Saturday, August 24 when Walsall are the visitors to Home Park. Tomlinson is now calling on the Green Army for an impromptu Scarf Day for the game against Colchester.
That would involve as many supporters as possible attending with green and white scarves and raising them in the air when the teams come out for the start of the match. You know what Nick shove the forza nerde stuff up your arse, where your head currently is. |
