| Man in the middle CRAIG HICKS Has shown 109 yellow cards and 4 red cards in his first season as an EFL referee. He has refereed Argyle on one previous occasion, which was when they lost 2-1 to Fleetwood Town at Home Park in October. He booked four players that afternoon, all of them from Fleetwood
Assisted by Kevin Morris and Justin Amey

PETERBOROUGH NEWSPeterborough go into the clash off the back of a 2-0 victory over local rivals Northampton Town at the ABAX Stadium while Argyle, who have surged up the league table since the turn of the year, were without a fixture on Easter Monday as their game with Scunthorpe United was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. The two sides faced each other at the ABAX Stadium on the opening day of the season with Posh running out 2-1 winners thanks to goals from Junior Morias and an own goal securing all three points. Steve Evans is getting so carried away by the form of his ace striker Jack Marriott that he’s started mentioning him in the same breath as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Speaking before leaving for tomorrow’s (April 7) crunch League One clash at Plymouth Argyle, Evans got really excited when asked about his 31-goal star and he even put a £10 million price tag on his head. He said: “No central defender wants to play against Jack Marriott - not in League One, not in the Championship and, dare I say, not in the bottom seven or eight teams in the Premier Division. Plymouth have been on a wonderful run since the turn of the year and they are very much in the mix for the play-offs. We will travel down and prepare right for the game. We have four away games remaining and this is the first of them and we will try and come away with something from the game.” “It’s going to be tough. It’s a tough place to go. I’ve been to Home Park before and there’s always a passionate home support there,” said Evans. “They are a team that have been in stunning form since the turn of the year but I’d like to think we can go there and play our part in a great League One match. We’re looking forward to it. “It’s a long journey but we’ll be properly prepared. The boys will be fresh. “Plymouth are a hard-working team with six or seven top-class players. Derek (Adams) has assembled a number of good players and Graham Carey is one of them.” The midfield man is the only League One player to have reached double figures in goals and assists this season. Evans added: “Carey can land a ball on a toadstool from 60 yards. And they have three or four players who can do that. They have players capable of punishing you and who can dominate games. But we have got some players like that as well. We have sold over 250 tickets in advance for this game. You can POTD. According to newS on the web Peterborough team are staying at the Jurys Inn Hotel TEAM NEWSPosh could welcome Ryan Tafazolli back into the squad after the defender missed the game on Monday with a hamstring injury. He will travel down to Plymouth with the squad and manager Steve Evans will make a decision on his involvement on Saturday. Alex Penny is injured and won’t feature for Posh. Plymouth Argyle NewsPlymouth boss Derek Adams is expected to field an unchanged squad for Saturday's League One home clash with Peterborough, he is comfortable with team now being in the position of chasing the pack in the race for the League One play-offs. Argyle are hoping the attendance will be over the 10,000 mark again. This is the last game that the disable stand is going to be used. TEAM INJURIESMidfielder Antoni Sarcevic is not yet ready to return as he continues to recover from a groin injury. Forward Simon Church is still battling a hip complaint and defender Gary Miller has so far been unable to shake off a hamstring issue. Good news coming out of from Ryan Edwards’ is the end is in sight and hoping for good news on the 10th. Prediction 2 - 1 to Argyle |

| Would be great to get one over on the odious Steve Evans, although I concede he is a good manager, tight game I think, will tick it off as a draw. COYG |

| My mind has just flashed back to that other third tier promotion season and the rather unfortunate behaviour of many at Peterborough at the end of the season. Apart from that a great day out with the lunatics of the Devonport Labour Club. Four toilet stops for the coach before it got out of Devon at Midnight Happy charabanc days in the old fashioned way when you could set off a week before a game if you had the inclination. The ball should zip about today. No one of Mariner's class obviously, but if Carey and Lameiras avoid the inevitable attention early on, Argyle will be too much for Evans and his rather unpleasant ways |

| I think it will be a tight niggly affair that we will sneak one nil after Carey smashes home a late pen. I think that basically our playoff hopes ride on his match win this we are proper contenders lose and well end up just outside. Roar. |

| It's hard to think of a better set of results today, and to come from behind against a big competitor ? Well done Adams, sort of expected from my perch, and the play offs beckon. Can't see anything to stop the ongoing run in form. A pity the off field property geezers get in my way, but that's how it has been for a long time now. |

| One of the very best performances of the season particularly 2nd half. And that after P'boro came outta the blocks quick and deservedly went ahead.
Whoever this ref was, on that showing he wont be refing league games for long. He was totally lost all afternoon. He got so many decisions wrong that after P'boro were down to nine, he was afraid to give anything against them and was looking to the lino all the time. The first red was bizarre. He played on having clearly not seen it, then whether he's had a nudge from an assistant I don't know but he's waited for the ball to go out then given the red card. Comical.
Steve Evans was raging as usual about everything though to be fair the ref got so much so wrong for both teams it probably evened itself out. Fantastic at the end when Evans waddled on to the pitch to remonstrate with the ref. Comedy gold.
Taylor immense as per, and fully deserved his goal. Everyone played their part really and if we play like that for the next 6 games I can't see us losing to anyone. |
