Former Plymouth Argyle, Sheffield Wednesday and Swindon Town promotion winner Paul Sturrock has been named as the assistant manager of Scottish Championship club Dundee United according to the Daily Record.
The 61-year-old Scot has not been involved in day-to-day club management since leaving Sky Bet League Two club Yeovil Town in December 2015.
Sturrock has most recently been scouting in England for Scottish second tier club Dundee United. With The Arabs boss Csaba Laszlo currently struggling to keep his side’s promotion hopes alive it has been announced that Sturrock will return to the dugout to assist the Hungarian.
Dundee United are a huge 19 points behind league leaders St Mirren and a play-off place looks to be their only hope of promotion. The Tangerines have lost four of their last seven league matches and they are in danger of spending another season outside of the top flight.
New assistant boss Sturrock’s most successful spell in management came at Plymouth Argyle where he helped the club won two promotions. The Scot also won promotions during spells with both Sheffield Wednesday and Swindon Town.
Sturrock’s latest managerial role with Yeovil Town lasted less than eight months after winning just six of his 30 matches in charge of The Glovers.

Surprising, but Luggy is a legend in those parts, just wondering what the Arabs will make of it, hope it works out for him.
