The Argyle squad are scheduled to leave for their 300-mile coach trip to Rochdale at 12 noon on Friday.

Protective covers have been on the pitch at Spotland as the winter freeze has set in.

Temperatures in Rochdale, though, are not forecast to rise higher than one degree centigrade between now and 3pm on Saturday.

Adams said: “We are just preparing as usual. They have got the ground sheets down at Rochdale.

It just depends on what the temperature is like over the next two nights. Hopefully the game will go ahead.

We will leave at 12 o’clock tomorrow but we will obviously be guided as well by the authorities if it is safe to travel or not.

However, the condition of the playing surface might not be the only factor as to whether the game against Argyle goes ahead.

That's a good call Elias. I would hope the night before, forecast not getting above freezing there until at least Sunday. They've got a cover for that fine new investment of a pitch, so maybe not a problem.
Maybe the ref doesn't get paid if it's called off early, and wants to get the gig even if he just calls it off ? It has been known in local football circles. A sort of zero hours contract thing.

Ive just heard on Radio Devon that theres a pitch inspection at 8.30 am 2morw(friday morning).....but looking very doubtful it will be on though

Don't think Rochdale can do much more, obviously all depends on how cold the pitch gets.

That would be the sensible thing for many reasons. The poor old cat hasn't been out all day.

It will be called off today. And should be done as soon as possible. Anything else is irresponsible as some will no doubt try to travel today.
