from free chat

I like to know, the championship receive £10mil from tv rights, if we are promoted this season is the tv right money owed to the bank in a arrangement from administration

10 year loan notes owing to Todd etc similar to that organised by Ridsdale at Cardiff. People have chosen to ignore it, and it's not helped by Brent giving the impression of a debt free club. He only mentioned the Lombard debt when asked where the HHP uplift money would go, as it certainly isn't heading for the club.

Hopefully, the satisfaction of paying off outstanding debts is wonderfully cathartic.

Is it really that much!? If that’s right things have moved on massively since we were last there.

You’d think it’d be the other way around though? A ready made excuse for Brent to broadcast to the world exactly why our footballing budget doesn’t equate squarely with bums on seats?

As far as I can make out the sky tv money is about the same, maybe a little less than it was, £2million a season. But the Premier league now also doles out money to the championship at just over £4million a team, so all in all getting on for £6.5 million a season" plus appearance" add ons. Anybody who thinks Brent doesn't want promotion is living in cuckoo land. And I would expect Todd/Gardner/lombard etc all drove a hard bargain
People who think they just walked away with nothing are dreaming, and nobody from Newell to the ball boys like to talk about the details of the wor for fear of offending the new owners. Brent would see the same type as him OK, not like the deal for the small local fish who lost nearly all. One of the main reasons I have great distaste for the man when the details finally sunk in and his nature became apparent. It's taken a long time to realise Brent appears to have not paid off secured Lombard, but promised them first dibs on uplift value it would seem. Balance sheet tricks and rescheduling, but still there.

A phoenix club instead of being "saved" by Jimmy, would have been the best route in the long term.

I've always regretted we didn't start a new club instead of being saved by Jimmy and the jam boys
