| Very surprising definately not the quality of player you'd expect Chelsea to go for |

| Perhaps things are a bit slow in the Chelsea Treatment Room. Need to keep up with current Best Practice. And who better than A Carroll (the Darren Anderson de nos jours)to keep them busy? |

| It might...just might work with Chelsea. Chelsea are a more muscular direct side than Liverpool and like a have a lump upfront, Morata is awful and there’s isn’t really much sense is trying to buy a Chelsea level striker in January.
I’d say the amount Manchester United are paying for a geezer that will be out of contract in 6 months time is more barrier. |

| The only weird thing about this is he's home grown talent and he's an old fashioned centre forward. World class ? No, but then nor is Ashley Barnes, both of whom are quite capable of a certain role up front in the premier Division. He took my eye the first time down here with Newcastle. Football is so up itself in this country that there's rampant snobbery where home grown talent is concerned. That's the fans as well as the industry itself. He could well be effective at Chelsea given the chance |

Very true, exactly the same with managers too. No reason to believe that one of the more promising young English managers such as Rowett, Wilder etc would have done worse than the bloke at Southampton or some of the more bizarre appointments at places like Swansea or Sunderland over the years. |
