Versatile defender Zak Vyner is set to become the second arrival of the January transfer window at Plymouth Argyle this week.

The Bristol City man, who can play at right-back or centre-back, looks likely to arrive on a loan deal until the end of the season according to the Bristol Post.

Bristol City defender Zak Vyner is heading out on loan. Head coach Lee Johnson revealed yesterday that several clubs were interested in the Bristol City academy product.

And we understand that the right-back or centre-back will head to Home Park for the duration of the campaign with Plymouth Argyle having won the race for his services.

Vyner has played just five times this season, featuring most recently in the 3-0 loss to Watford in the FA Cup as the Robins rested several senior first team players.

Much the same was said about Bobby Reid and Joe Bryan, in fact I remember Joe Bryan getting quite a lot stick in his early days

I think the main reason could be getting sokolik off the books ..as even though his not playing his wages inclued last yrs promotion bounuses i would have thought so proberly cheaper to get this kid in on loan jims austerity/not spending a dollar

TBH Zac sounds a decent signing, as somebody said particularly in terms of the news about Ryan Edwards, hopefully Zac turns out to be another Bobby Reid.

Jackob is/was moving on so we needed another option in defence regardless to the news about Edwards today also given how bad we have been at right back this season with Miller and threlkeld just coming back to form having someone who can play there also is a plus. As Edwards is out for a period i can see Jackob staying put now and del running with sonny, yann, zak and him as our central options.
