I have to take Tramadol for Chronic Fibromylgia which was diagnosed over 20 years ago. The tramadol removes virtually every symptom for me so I operate normally so to speak.
Trouble is the drug is coveted by junkies coming down off cocaine and smack and cant help feeling thats why shes got 3 years albeit very harsh in my opinion

I have transited Cairo with Tramadol in hand luggage as well

Exactly Angry albeit it certainly appears she was just naive more than any attempt to resale. The modified release tabs (which calm the junkies down for 24 hours) go for £10-£15 a pill but there was no suggestion that was her intention.

Out of interest and again you need to follow the countries rules/laws vaping in Thailand carries up to 50,000 Baht fine (around £1150) and or 2 years in jail. Vaping not a missprint. Needless to say the courts are inundated levying fines. People just not aware

My wife takes Tramadol and a prescription is never more than a 100 tablets at a time (4 max a day or she starts hallucinating)....if she orders next prescription too early it is refused......this women had nearly 300 that alone is suspicious.
If it's banned in Egypt then she needs covering paperwork...THAT SHE NEEDS IT not someone else.

Agree entirely paperwork or not its naivety beyond belief. Am guessing shes bought them on the net from somewhere

She’s admitted she’s bringing it in for someone else. It’s a harsh lesson, but you have to ask where is she getting that amount of script drugs from in the first place, if not prescribed for her?

As Harve says there are some unbelievable penalties in some of these third world countries. If she knew the law and took the risk then I don’t have much sympathy for her. If she didn’t know the law then there’s a big life lesson she’s now been taught.

I do know that I've traveled widely and used to use a lot of scripts. I had a nice "interview" in Saudi Arabia many moons ago over a strip of Co Codamol I had in my wash bag, nearly feckin shit myself when a dog picked me out of a line! I like you was going to Thailand but stopped there as an unscheduled stop, off the plane carrying your bags and your at their mercy.
As for this bint she's basically muleing for her boyfriend.

Ignorance of other countries laws are no excuse, imho. She's been caught. Do the time love. Harsh lesson learnt. Laughed at other family members being interviewed on Sky and the Beeb this morning. They're making out that butter wouldn't melt in her mouth and can't understand what she's done wrong. FFS. Put the violins away. Go and pick her up in three years time!

Anyway. She's from Hull. 3 years in an Egyptian prison should be a piece of cake!

Shes put in an appeal always dangerous ground when the max touted was 25 years or death penalty.
Could easily find it doubled

Simple message if you go to a foreign countrys abide by the rules of the land
Just because your British dont think there rules dont apply to you

I was pulled to one side leaving Oman some years back because I didn't have a letter authorising my departure! I'd only been there for 4 weeks to relieve a sick RN mate. Time ticked on and eventually I was let go to make the flight back - just!! Bleedy business class though - went out 1st class with gallons of freebies . drunk

I see the family are making as much noise as possible in their desire to get the girl released. Egyptian authorities aint gonna take that lightly. Expect an increase in sentence on appeal.
She knew what she was doing by hiding the tabs within paracetamol packaging

Sisters just been on Good Morning Britain whining like hell.

Oooppsss!! BIG error! If her sisters invest their appearance money they could maybe book a 1st class seat for 3 years time.

Yes she had substituted the tramadol for paracetamol/panadol packaging clearly deliberate. When I wrote the OP I wasn't aware of that. shes guilty up to her eyeballs. If she as claimed didnt realise they were illegal why hide them at all let alone substitute into different packaging.

Big Boy Egyptian was invariably going to sell them as banned there so even more coveted by smackheads and cocaine users clucking and wanting relief
