Agree about the importance of the win, but I think l've seen enough today to not go again this season.
Must admit I am becoming less of a Derek fan now,
Took off Grant who had an influence in the game, put
On Songo sat back and low and behold the crap Gills
Score.

I think we have / will have enough to escape the drop. It won't be pretty, it won't be Barca and it may not flow but we'll scrape over the line with DA still here for season 18/19. However, what does concern me is that the gameplan for matches in 18/19 will be just as they are now. Nooooooooooooo!!!!

I like the idea the Brent apologist Derek Adams is under pressure. Let's be quite clear here, he's accepted years of guaranteed management employment for himself, while handing out the shortest possible shop floor player contracts he could, and still continues to do so, with weekly contracts becoming the norm. He's doing Brent's bidding with a smile. He's a bigger Brent fan than Newell. This week's Lameiras thing just shows how very loyal he is to his troops, doesn't take long does it ? .... so.......
Adams out, and take your horrible defensive dour unsuccessful vision of "sport" with you.
Far too many Adams apologists on this forum.

Shut up you stupid old twat or better still have your eighth flounce of the decade.
You alright Greenskin?

Fine thanks, old sport- just warming up after this afternoons seat in the ice box. Seriously considered leaving at HT, having a bit of Sciatica trouble with the old pins ATM and bleddy cold goes right through it but managed to last.. Not much of note in the first half, a few long range efforts and an unconverted cross or two from Argyle, the most controversial moment undoubtedly when Roos parried a hard close range shot and grabbed it.....well, looked to be about 6 inches over the line from my angle, utterly amazed that the linesman signalled no goal. Certainly a lucky break and Argyle did play quite well for a spell at the start of the second half, probably merited the lead given to them by Grant with a low shot on the turn. Then the old problem surfaced of not having the firepower to bury teams and Gillingham pressed hard although they didn't really threaten that much. They threatened more after DA took Grant off and brought Songoo on, eventually equalising with a stunning strike from 25 yards, although I think the number 9 illegally turned his defender. As a constructive observation of the manager rather than out and out uninformed, simplistic hogwash, that is the third time this season [Wigan and Shrewsbury as well] that Argyle have conceded after making substitutions allegedly to shore matters up. Frankly Gillingham looked the more likely to win the game but in a rare counter attack in added time, Tounami netted with another low shot after good work from Carey as I remember-even then Gillingham still looked dangerous and it took a good save from Roos to save the points and DA from an angry inquest [which may well take place anyway come to think of it].Controversial and some would say jammy win but very important in the quest to hang on until January-hopefully some more dead wood like Lameiras can be shifted to clear the decks for a couple of decent signings. Live in hope I suppose.

The only dead wood at Home Park are The Two Trees, Adams, and Brent.
Must have been difficult for you to concentrate on the game, greenskin, given your interest can't go 2 hours without a fag. How many times is it you've left early for a toke ?  About time you gave vaping a bit of a go at your age. Or, like some of us, give up and just use ifollow. That way you don't contribute to the squire and it's up to you whether your heart busts from the fags first or the profiteering squire leaves the park and the club.

Poor form Beez. This ain't Jbsoti. Posters here aren't (generally) thickos.

You try and goad one or two into a reaction with you "too many Adams apologists" jibe.

Greenskin duly gives you the reaction you were seeking.

Don't play the fuckin abuse card when you're trying to get a reaction. You looked for it, you got it.

Getting personal with the smoking jibe is a bit sad and pathetic to be honest.

Glad you've piped up Czarky.
I don't view myself as being abused. If I did, my reaction would be quite different, and not online.
Greenskin has got personal in an online sense, and I've had enough. If you think I'm going to stand back and take his clear pasoti shit , you're mistaken. He could apologise for the remark, but he won't..... that's a nool thing
I really really really don't like your phrase "asking for it". I've heard that before somewhere, and  from one of the Tisdale threads on abused women that resulted in his banning. Good company you keep.

Wondered how long it would be before the "squire" got a mention-as can be seen from the signature and previous posts, certainly no argument from myself about the unsatisfactory nature of his tenure. But then in 50 odd years there have been various turds and toads running the show and it hasn't stopped my attendance before, no doubt you were in the same boat at one time. Congratulations on both seeing the light in the Argyle domain and in giving up the weed, what a trooper is the only expression that comes to mind. You must also have extraordinary powers to make a judgement on Lameiras without seeing him play, you really are quite the all rounder. Natural lead on into cricket-no problem in concentrating for a couple of hours on a Saturday, no different to concentrating for a couple of hours at the crease and making shedloads of runs.

I don't really have a clue what you're getting at Beez. Do you have a dossier that you like to keep on current and former posters?
And yes, you really were asking for the response you got from Skinny.

I have better things to do than keep dossiers. I have a memory. Hope that's ok. Feel free to look up the appropriate thread.
And, no I wasn't "asking for it". If you knew me, that would be the last thing I would ever encourage, quite the polar opposite. I didn't even show an ankle.

Think it was Earwig who pointed out that there are 7-8 teams as bad as us in the division, and we're looking to scrape more points than four of them. I still have an inkling that we'll do it, but eff me, it'll be interminable dull to watch.

That sub was del bhey sitting on the 1-0 which was a stupid decision considering We needed the 2nd goal and Gillingham where pressing hard. If we where 2-0 up then a defensive sub might have been a good move.

Absolutely Angry ,a Songo substitution would have made total sense at 2 nil, I hope Derek gave Diagouraga a pat on the back after the game for saving the day, Derek I think would have and should have had his balls chewed off for the first half performance, his substitution and tactics.
Not a good day for the Gills , having a legit goal not given and then conceding in the 90th, particularly as the Gills looked the more likely to score and win after Songo coming on.
Plenty more tedious sitting back footie to come it looks like at the theatre of schemes - enjoy while I'll be counting my money. geek

Some of us have the sense to skirt around the Estate. A bit like Exeter building a canal around Lady Topsham's purloined bit of the River Exe. I reckon Parkway will hit the championship before Lord Akkeron.

Not been yet, but will after Xmas.

Not expecting super-duper football, more like smash and grab stufff with some direness thrown in for good measure.

It all depends on January and that other bag of spare change. Brent and the Board can dust it off and hand it to Adams, with strict instructions to hand back any that has not been spent (that can go toward the summer kitty).

Should Argyle and Adams get enough points to stay up, then good for them. If not, god knows where the club goes from there.

The chances of someone buying the club and fulfilling the potential is like myself stating I will win the Christmas lotto, not a chance.

You hear about these British and foreign folk who want to put vast amounts of cash into an English football side, perhaps Argyle are too far away in the sticks or out of the way to attract any of them or just plain non-business sense.

It would have to be a local person or a fan run club for any worthy advancement. That is about the cusp of it.

oh shout to the stewards yesterday that didnt bother checking bags and a group of german naval personnel managed to sneak in bottles of vodka and larger while also smoking aswell.

just aswell they didnt bring flares or stuck a sticker on the wall as they might have been more on the ball. 30 mins it took them to finally stop the lads then the head fire steward got brave telling them off 15mins after the event before they left at halftime.

Tis a hard struggle at times for sure but seeing that winner going in was still a top moment. You know how it is Tringers, you've often said yourself that if you'd stayed Plymouth based then trips to HP would probably still have been a staple fortnightly feature-bet you'd have been just as senseless as quite a few others on the site.
