But a good gate for a grim winter League One relegation battle. |

| I wonder how many of the counted season ticket holders were a no show. I personally know 3 that didn't go. Impossible these days to compare turnouts with pre Ridsdale history. Football's own institutionalised fake news |

| Just watched the blades v fulham highlights wow that was some game. Nice one Sonny. I think Northampton may be looking for a new manager soon given what they spent and they were fancied for promotion. |

| Shorely they would have to know exact numbers of people in the Stadium in case of an emergency like a bomb or a fire? Wouldn't be the first time that the figures have been massaged. There were a lot of rumours that an extra thousand or so cash sales went in under the radar years ago in full knowledge of the board, not a turnstile fiddle. |

| Ridsdale started including absent ST holders in line with many other clubs, using the reasoning that it would make the club a more attractive proposition to buy. Total bull of course. The club know the true figure of actual attendees of course for fire purposes given the ST scanning procedure.
My guesstimate at the time, given my previous very accurate "guess the crowd" eye, was an increase in recorded attendances of anything from 500 to 700 fans on the true number of grunt boots on the ground. Now with 5000+ ST holders, many of them kids of course, I would expect anything up to a 1000 aren't taken up or " passed on to friends/family" for a mid week late evening game. One of my ST family doesn't like driving in the dark from Cornwall to see an evening game and there isn't a late enough return train. Of course the eagle eyed club secretary would be able to publish just how many ST seats are unoccupied, or heaven forbid, the ACTUAL attendance, but that clearly wouldn't suit the modern agenda. I suspect the cover story these days is HMRC demand that bought tickets is the figure published. |

| The story I'm on about goes back to Dans days, I reckon Warnock years probably, I remember one day they announced the crowd as (just off the top of my crap memeory) 'and today's attendance is...12457' to which a bunch of the crowd starting singing 'you can't feckin count.' there was easy fourteen thou there if not more, like you say Bees if you go a lot you aren't often far out with a guess on the crowd. |

Here you are earwig, fill yer boots if you've got the data Argyle Bristol 1986 Tynan and Dave Smith [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Great evening, and bear in mind this was before the Lyndhurst was seated so the capacity was still just under 30000. Had to be 25000 plus, yet 20000 was the official figure on the nail. |
