| Bit unfair, we can hardly compete with giants like Shrewsbury, for starters their ground holds 9.875 |

By the time the Brentmare, and his cronies have developed Central Park that will be bigger than the Homepark Mini ground. |

Just about says it all The thick, blinkered, deluded, eternally grateful deserve the kind of club their going to get under the Brentmaster and his toadies. Low expectations and simple minds makes green Jim a happy owner. BRENTOUTBRENTOUTBRENTOUTBRENTOUTBRENTOUTBRENTOUTBRENTOUTBRENTOUTBRENTOUT |

Wasn't even on the bench today, given his body language on weds in the newton game, I think it highly likely. |

When he signed I predicted on here that he would back at Celtic by the end of September. Wrong by a couple of weeks but his shiteness was obvious. |

| I'm happy with the point considering our form and the form of shrewsbury. Strong performance although not perfect by any means as we still look all over the place defending counter attacks. The new guy who im calling Dave looks good he and fox could make a strong partnership in the middle.
Shame we didnt win but i feel del bhey was tempting fate taking a striker off and putting defender on so early after we score and with just over half n hour left to play we should have gone for the 2nd goal rather than it given how dangerous shrews can be going forward. We defend well. Taylor Sinclair had a half decent game Carey took his goal well lets see if he kick on from here.

| First the game.Ultimately disappointing result from a match which could easily have been won-Adams fan that I am, afraid he must take some responsibility for surrendering the initiative by bringing Bradley on and effectively giving Shrewsbury licence to attack for the rest of the game, which they duly did. Just couldn't understand the thinking behind it-sure, Shrewsbury were putting on a bit of pressure which was only to be expected but Argyle were coping with it very well. Understandable to bring Fletcher off, he had worked very hard and was due a break but surely Blissett should have been the choice? Argyle had no outlet until he came on, Jervis being rather ineffective in the striker role, and the inevitable happened and could have been worse after that. Highlights for Argyle were a magnificent strike from Carey and a generally sound performance which displayed a solidity seldom seen so far this season. Songoo was excellent, quite impressed with the new guy bringing an assurance and some good tackles and touch in midfield. Still wonder where the goals are coming from though.
The club are certainly going overkill on this stuff about pitch invasions, chanting etc-the baggo statement was read out word for word before the game and at HT-why FFS? HP never strikes me as being a bastion of anarchic abuse, certainly no worse than in the past. I heard a bit of activity behind me in the DE in the first half-was that the incident referred to by Punchdrunk? What exactly was it all about? |

I heard a bit of activity behind me in the DE in the first half-was that the incident referred to by Punchdrunk? What exactly was it all about? A couple lads who obviously had Lyndhurst tickets asked the steward to cross into the Demport. They were told they couldnt. Bearing in mind one of them had a FULL PATTERN Burberry shirt , they thought they could inconspicuously walk up the block6 steps and cross into block5 towards the back of the stand (near to where Punchy earlier got kicked out). It was obvious this was going to happen and the stewards saw them. There then followed a comical episode of stewards asking them to move back, them refusing, and then they just took the piss a little by standing up and sitting down in different seats. I went down underneath at halftime but by all accounts they were forcibly ejected by stewards/old bill at half time. Village, to the end. |

| Funny ol' game yesterday. Make no mistake Shrewsbury were by far the better side, with their [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Nolan basically controlling the game and being especially eye-catching, but they barely threatened our goal. Argyle, on the other hand, had barely any possession, sat very deep for much of the game and despite barely getting out of our half for the first half an hour or so could have had it won by half-time: Songo'o headed over, Sarcevic hooked one over the bar from close in, their (dodgy) keeper fumbled a Carey free-kick and Shrewsbury, despite all the possession and general dominance, were very relieved to hear the half-time whistle when it came. The second half was more of the same, really. Shrewsbury continued to dominate but threatened little and Argyle were forced to live on scraps of possession until Grant broke up an attack, moved forward very positively before running into something of a cul de sac; luckily the ball broke to Carey who made a few yards up the pitch all the time obviously teeing up a shot with his left foot and when it came their keeper hardly moved. An absolute peach. We even looked like hanging on because Shrewsbury created next to noting but kept plugging away by routinely over-loading the left-hand side where we had Sawyer, who did more than OK, under almost constant pressure. Eventually they attacked down the left again, cut inside and [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] curled a low shot just inside the post from the edge of the box. Letheren had no chance. I suppose we were lax to allow him a shooting opportunity but in truth he took it extremely well. Even then we made a couple of decent late chances and could have snatched it. If every chance in the game had been taken we'd've won about 6-2 despite what I'd imagine is a pathetically low share of possession over the course of the match. For us Songo'o was once again crucial; he really is Mr Magnet because the ball seems to be constantly attracted to him. He won loads of headers, made loads of blocks and was absolutely key to our defensive effort. Carey seemed back to his normal 30-yard-screamer self. Fox was back starting and we have clearly missed him. Diagourougo showed plenty of promise and his touch and passing were good; he is also a redoubtable unit. At the end we had Letheren, Blissett, Diagourogo, Bradley, Edwards, Songo'o and Jervis all on the pitch which must make it one of the tallest XIs we have ever played. Which leaves Adams. I suppose given recent results he can hardly be blamed for going back to the basics he knows: keep 'em out and we'll be OK. For the best part it worked fine, too. He does seem to be over-reliant on the 4-2-3-1 thing though and we saw several variants of it during the match: Carey started wide left but moved central when Jervis came on for Sarcevic who appeared to tweak a hammy. When Fletcher was subbed by Bradley Jervis went up top and for the life of me I couldn't tell you went out on the left which was why Sawyer was pressured so much and where their goal came from. I think we ended up 4-4-2 with both Jervis and Blissett up front. Overall I am a bit disappointed with the draw, I expect the players are too and i expect that Shrewsbury are also disappointed. It was by no means a bad game but Both teams will be thinking they should have taken all 3 points so I guess that a draw was fair in the end. |
