There has been plenty of talk just of late regarding this season's budget and choice words for super fan Hallett and Brent himself, both who have a few bob to go around.

For a bit of fun, it got me to thinking about if I were well off and had plenty of cash to spare, I would invest in Argyle. It would hopefully get to see the side play much improved football and winning honours.

My investment and return would be team matters and only team matters, basically I would fund the budget for the manager.

Me too.
I would also ensure that those who have cosied up to Brent recieve lifetime bans. That extends to the Wife Shagger also.

I would take HHP and make it better. Investing in club is pretty much rule 1 of any owner worth a shit so that would be done anyways.

Grandstand would be built for the future in mind capacity could be increased aswell have home corporate shit too. the carpark would have an ice arena that would have a rink that could host a potential ice hockey team aswell as home the plymouth raiders and other ice skating events. aswell as public rink.

thats about it really cause all the other s hit brent wants to build wont make a dime.

Plow money into the team only to rise up the divisions again. Become an established championship team and then improve the general infrastructure of the club.

If i find an oilwell in the back garden, i would have a mass clear out Players, manager, management staff etc, and draw up plans for a New Grandstand and try to turn argo into a serious club, that joke of a training ground wants rebuilding and i would accept fifty quid for Jimmy's fence which i would not give to charity! jocolor

I think the thing that would worry me most about coming in to a mass of money and taking over at Argyle is the way in which Newell would suddenly transfer all his loyalty and sycophancy to me, in order to try and keep his seat at the top table. After years of being seen as public enemy number one - along with everyone else who chooses ATD/Freechat over his dying forum- to suddenly find that he's kissing my arse like he kissed the arse of Brent/Todd/Gardner/Stapleton et al. would be to much to bear.

I'd still give the fecker a lifetime ban from Home Park, mind.

Pol Pot Argyle Razz
Without the nasty bits, I reckon it could work.

Corporate bicycles available from Royal Parade. £4.50 to park them, and a £2 surcharge on any ticket bought in advance.
No need for season tickets as most holders just love Argyle sooooo much, they'll willingly pay almost double per game. Concessions brought down to over 60s in line with many other clubs, but no concession for any adults over 18, and the children/family area moved to it's former block. These measuresmarketing tools should bring down the POTD price to more acceptable levels, £14 maximum. Everyone's a winner apart from those who don't want to attend.

There still are people around, wealthy (that's really wealthy) individuals, lifelong PAFC fans who would invest money into the club when the time was right. In leagues 1 and 2 you don't need huge investments and massive budgets, you need a good manager, decent players, good enough to get you out of the division. (Plus of course, a workable budget). It's the CCC where you need a big injection of funds if you want to compete.

As for now, Brent would want a substantial sum to walk away, in fact I don't think he would whilst there are property deals to be done. If we did get back to the CCC he and Starnes would be completely out of their depth, their mindset would have to change overnight from one of austerity to investment and that just isn't going to happen.

If I was wealthy, I'd make sure all my family had secure, mortgage and rent-free homes and decent cars, put away a stash for all my poppets and go part-time at work so I could get some more travelling in. And I'd pay to get Newell and Webb banned from the whole of Plymouth, not just the football club.

Brent and Starnes take us to the CCC? Have a word with yourself the CCC is Argyles Premiership with these clowns involved in fact staying in league 2 will be hard with their management of the club.

I'd invest in the team, then the team and then the team. To supplement earwegoagain's coffee a free pig roast every home game until the farm has no pigs.

I would spend my money on coke, girls, motorbikes, heritage guitars, and forget football.

Forgot about coke, I'd probably mark both penalty box lines in Cocaine, it would make the footballers feel at home and reduce tiredness, we could easily run Argyle with a squad of 11 players then, probably be cost effective.

If I won euromillions I would donate Home Park, HHP and the land to the FOCP to preserve as common park land. The large car park would be combined with the Park and Ride to make an ice rink.

I would.then invest in the team and build a state of the art stadium on the outskirts of the city with excellent rail, road and bus transport links.

Well the biggy is tomorrow nights Euro at £128 million. Now, if I win that I'll spend £2 million on a party for all ATDeers. I'm a generous person.
