| Apparently Brent has a competitive budget available this year, can't be that competitive if we can't keep our best players. |

| To be fair it depends on who they move on to.
Sarfend would be a bummer but Sheff Utd a bit more understandable. |

| We can't compete with the likes of Southend and their proposed new 22k seated stadium. |

| And they got him for free aswell. Cant blame him for wanting a step up, he clearly hasnt got the patience to wait 6 years (judging by how long it took us to get out of league two) with us to play in the championship.
Great start to the League One preparations. |

| Is there any actual evidence for this? Can't see anything on the Herald, or Freechat. |

| According to a Mr D Bunney on [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] the club in question is Saltash United, so a real boon on removal costs for the Careys. |

| I'm stunned and amazed brent's 'competitive' 2017-18 budget couldn't persuade him to stay. As the Crewe fans kept reminding us on Saturday - we're going straight back down.
BRENT OUT NOW |

I saw your post on that. If only eh? And there are Brent supporters who are arguing that we should only build a ground that would cope with our average attendance. Apparently this would drive up demand for season tickets and corporate deals. |

Apparently this would drive up demand for season tickets and corporate deals. I swear some people are more interested in pleasing the owners than following the football. Why would any fan be waxing lyrical about restricting supply to put up the price of watching football for anyone ? Especially when it has become quite clear any extra income over an arbitrary slide rule football budget, in all probability, goes to the pension fund. Maybe self esteem wasn't on the curriculum at their skool. |

| IF it was Saffend I would question GC's sanity. If it is Sheff Utd then he plays in the Championship which will be more competitive and really test his skills. Now,talking of 'competitive' .. I should add that the link to Sheff Utd was started by a Blades fan on their site last week in a thread about who the fans thought would be a good signing. GC didn't get that much a chuck up really! |

If the growth in attendances continues and the club starts selling out more and cant fit anymore fans in whats the liklihood that removing the option of extending the capacity of the main stand and the other 3 is going to look like a good idea? it will dawn on those stupid idiots then that they should have supported the club and its future ambitions and not brent and his pension over this new stand. |

| in brents paper he says he wants carey to stay.
thats pretty much confirms to me that he is off as brent isnt going to give im a deal he wants and the assurances he needs about the direction of the club going forward. |

| There's a number of rumours around about Carey. As well as the Sheffield one, Barnsley have been keeping tabs and Bristol City have been sniffing around. Nothing's decided yet. Unless of course he's signed a pre-contract agreement with an un-named CCC club? |

| I wonder how successful Del boy can be without the main man during his management career. Over a season, players like Carey aren't two a penny in the lower leagues. |

I'd like to think he has already looked at one or two as possible replacements. Looking back on careys career to date bar celtic where he was a yts/reserve player sent on loan for a number of years he has only spent 2 years at a club before moving on. |
