Early Blackpool news

Just a reminder for the ATD posters that kick off for this game is 1930 on Tuesday, The park and ride will be in full swing with commuters going home.
There has been a lot of complaints against the enforcement officers on other sites, if you follow the traffic regulation you be fine. Being an Argyle fan do not give you the right to park against the law. The new rules for parking in the park and ride car park is linked here.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

If you use Target Travel buses they will run on the normal evening kick off time. not 15mins early

I am going for a 3 - nil win and a crowd of 8,500

God knows what to expect, but i have a feeling another clueless 0ne nil defeat could be on the cards, in what must be the weakest fourth division ever where no club can be consistent for very long.

Another must win game I believe. If so, that would put Argyle 10 clear of Carlisle, 11 clear of Luton, 13 clear of Stevenage and 14 clear of Exeter.

Pompey are playing on Tuesday too, away at Crawley. I would take a draw there or a Pompey defeat.

No idea when Luton play their game in hand (next three games for them though are Stevenage, Carlisle and Exeter). We as Argyle fans will be wishing they draw or lose.

Would I take a draw against Blackpool on Tuesday night, probably not. It has to be three points.

Argyle are in a great position and only they can screw it up again. Personally, I think they will be ok though.

Welcome back to old friends lining up against us for Blackpool are forward Jamille Matt and defender Kelvin Mellor, they are now part of a competitive and unpredictable Blackpool team who will be looking to prevent us from closing the gap Doncaster Rovers to a single point.

Unpredictable Blackpool playing inconsistent Argo makes it predictably unpredictable.

One thing you can be sure of. Whenever this club starts the old mass free community ticket thing on a regular basis, there's a reason for it elsewhere. Maybe designed to reflect favourably on the upcoming new business plan/planning application.

Is the attendance this far down.

Plymouth Argyle Fans Fest
Hi guys,

We'd like to invite all away fans to our Fans Fest before the Plymouth Argyle v Blackpool match on Tuesday 7th March.

We offer a venue located right next to the ground (50m from the away end) for like-minded and friendly football fans to socialise before the game. You will experience fantastic pre-match entertainment including local comedian and Rick O'shay as well as singer Marley White. It’s an unforgettable atmosphere that is guaranteed to get you in the mood for the match ahead.

We have a great selection of draft beer, wines and spirits available. Don’t forget to grab a taste of Plymouth with a Friary Mill pasty on your way in (ooh argh).

From Fansonline.net:

Ask any manager what their aim is at the start of a season and they'll tell you it's to reach 50 points. If Blackpool reach that target on Tuesday night it will come with some extra satisfaction for Gary Bowyer. His side are currently supping a pint in the Last Chance Saloon and whilst we're not quite at chucking out time, we're getting pretty close to it. If there is ever any intent to reach the Play Offs, then this side, which has been given more chances than most, need to win their game in hand against Plymouth on Tuesday night. With a number of injuries and against a side that looks destined for League One next season, you'd say the odds are against them.

Having thrown away so many points this season at the death and having failed to deliver at home, it's easy to think that Blackpool have been on a horrendous run. In actual fact, they have only lost one out of their last 10 games which would be something to shout about if they'd not lost 7 of them (and let's not lose perspective about which league this side are in). They remain one of the leagues highest scorers on 52 goals (more than Portsmouth in 5th place) and have a better goal difference than both Carlisle and Stevenage - both in the top 7. It's easy to see though why they aren't in the promotion places when you note the only thing the Seasiders have recorded the most of in League Two are draws. It's ironic the season we crept in to the Play Offs we lost 17 games under Steve McMahon, yet this year it's just 9 and yet the strong likelihood is we won't achieve what the 2000/01 side did that season. A win on Tuesday at Home Park would only move the Seasiders up a place above Wycombe on goal difference but would bring them back to within 4 points of the play offs, which with 11 games to go is perfectly managable.

The problem is that this is Blackpool - a side that has only won back to back games once all season. Having put themselves in strong positions before, they seem incapable of living up to the pre-match 'we have to build on this result' statements of intent. With a defence that hasn't kept a clean sheet in 6 games and a strike force that is arguably missing it's two best options, Gary Bowyer's side will have to do this the hard way if they're to pick up the 3 points. Whilst Vassell will definitely miss the game with a broken food, Jamille Matt remains a doubt whilst Neil Danns is also unlikely to figure. Jakub Sokolik is Plymouth's main concern as he picked up an injury in Saturday's win against Carlisle whilst former Seasider David Fox has just got back in the Argyle side.

After this Blackpool face Wycombe and Stevenage - two more games that will separate the wheat from the chaff. For many this is a sideshow to the real battle which will take place in the court rooms in the summer - that meeting actually resembles this - on one side, the strong favourite in a great position and on the other the under dog whose had it's day and now looks a sorry imitation of where it once was. However, football like the court room is an unpredictable beast and we'll see whether either provide an upset.

I think that amount of little ones. it going to take four blocks or more if they all comes, so I say blocks 15,16,17,19. 18 is family and still have plenty of empty seats.

green genie might know more, as I think his son as a ticket for this game through DJM League

Yup. Youngest will be there with his team. They are collecting tickets in evening but think they are in BPE. I would suggest getting there a bit earlier as will be lot of confused groups around.

Am going again for a 2-0 victory which for me puts a seal on the season. As earlier mentioned it would take 2 teams to overhaul us and that simply wont happen at that point
