| [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Very surprised to see this place won an award again. Never been impressed with it at all & imo it is the worst in Plympton by some distance. Best one in Plympton for my money is not far away on the Ridgeway opposite Iceland. I imagine these award schemes are the type that are bought into like so many food & drink awards. |

I imagine these award schemes are the type that are bought into like so many food & drink awards. It got a mention on Soccer Saturday oddly enough. When talking about Lincoln, Geoff Stelling said a chip shop there had got second prize and that one in Plymouth was the best. Agree with M'lud though, never my favourite, and that the one in St Stephen's square is better. Just across from the bakery where they make the best pasties in the known world. That said, the Colebrook chippy isn't bad. |

| That's Woodford - different area entirely. That estate, by the way, was built on a pig farm. Funny that innit. |

| A great shame that the area is brought into disrepute by association with such an odious character Woodford ain't bad otherwise. Grew up there & went to the local school. |

| I've often meant to grab some chips in the place opposite Iceland. Looks very plush, if ever a chippy could be described that way. I'm usually en route to The Stannary though so will usually eat there. |

| This award is yet another that can be filed under the 'everyone's a winner' heading.
There's far too many best pub, best Indian, best restaurant, etc. Unless you've visited them all how would anyone know.
Most of these chippy's belong to different organisations which give out awards.
It's meaningless. |

| In vaguely related news the Lipson Chippy has re-incarnated and re-opened yet again as a burger/pizza/kebab shop by the looks of it.
No idea if it is any good or not. |
