A run of 10 games without a victory has seen Coventry City FC slip to the bottom of League One and that has proved too much for Tony Mowbray, who has resigned from his position as manager.
The Sky Blues drew 2-2 with AFC Wimbledon at the Ricoh Arena on Wednesday night in what turned out to be Mowbray's final act as manager.
Technical Director Mark Venus has gone straight to the top of the betting to takeover from Mowbray.
Venus will oversee first-team duties, it has been confirmed by the club, with bookies tipping him to become the next City boss on a permanent basis.
Bookmakers have him as 2/1 favourite to get the role, with a whole host of recognisable names also on their shortlist.
