Over the Viagra story- you couldn't get/ make it up!

Former Plymouth Argyle striker Emile Mpenza is to sue former boss Paul Sturrock over claims made in his autobiography about the use of viagra.
Luggy: The Autobiography of Paul Sturrock hit the shelves in late 2015 and in an extract of the book the former Argyle manager made reference to a time when Mpenza missed a training session.

It read: "I was told in all seriousness that Emile had taken Viagra the previous night and still had an erection and wouldn't be able to take part in training.
"The excuse has gone down in the annals of urban myths but I swear it's true.

"Even by the standards of football's surreal moment, its in a class of its own"
 
But now Mpenza's agent Laurent Denis has hit out at the extract, claiming it has left the former Belgian international furious.
According to the Daily Record Denis said: "We have launched a claim for damages. Emile has been deeply shocked by this imaginary tale, which undermines his reputation and seeks to discredit him.
"Not only does the use of Viagra suggest sexual impotence but for good measure it turns out to be an illicit doping product."
Mpenza signed for Argyle in May 2008 but was limited to just a handful of appearances in an unsuccessful and injury filled season.

Mpenza just wants to hold his head up and stand proud, sometimes you just can't predict when these things happen.

He was no semi pro.

is he going to sue for £100,000 and settle for £75,000

Why does it show him in a bad light? If he was any good he d have been elsewhere.

Seemed like it at the time !

I love the part which says 'not only does it suggest a lack of sexual prowess', ahead of any concerns about it being a banned substance. I await the agent-funded follow up story where they wheel out Dawn from Mutley to say that Mpenza picked her up in Annabels one evening then rode her all night like a champion and totally unassisted by drugs of any sort.
